Israeli troops on Monday dismantled and removed two electronic devices from the Lebanese border town of Adaisseh, as Lebanese soldiers and UNIFIL peacekeepers stood guard and monitored the process.

“At 10:45 a.m., a patrol belonging to the Israeli enemy and accompanied by two members of (UNIFIL's) liaison apparatus dismantled and removed the two electronic devices that were placed in the border area of Adaisseh, south of the Blue Line,” a Lebanese army statement said.

The army confirmed that the step happened “in the presence of army forces and U.N. peacekeepers.”

Meanwhile, al-Manar television stressed during its evening bulletin that the Israeli troops were operating inside Lebanese territory. Two reporters who were on the scene complained to al-Manar that the Israelis were stepping on Lebanese land and that Lebanese journalists were prohibited from approaching the location.

Earlier on Monday, the Lebanese and Israeli armies beefed up their deployment along the border of the southern town of Adaisseh.

According to Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3), the Lebanese military heavily mobilized along the border and took precautionary measures as the Israeli army reinforced its military presence off the border town of Adaisseh.

According to the state-run National News Agency, Israeli soldiers crossed into the area at 10:15 a.m. and dismantled two spying devices they had planted on Saturday in al-Mahafer area in Adaisseh.

The NNA said that the soldiers were accompanied by a Humvee.

A two-piece object resembling a spying device was found planted under a tree in Adaisseh on Saturday.

“The object was placed in al-Mahafer neighborhood in the town, in an area that is 150 meters away from the barbed wires to the south of Misgav Am settlement near Adaisseh,” reported the NNA.

The Lebanese Army issued a communique on Saturday saying that two computers with Hebrew writing were found in the disputed area.

“The Indonesian patrol in the UNIFIL found a suspicious object in a disputed area near Adaisseh,” the statement detailed.

Tension has spiked on the border between the two countries since a Lebanese soldier gunned down an Israeli soldier driving near the frontier on December 16.

Israel's border with Lebanon has been largely quiet since the 2006 war with Hizbullah.

Good job

even if they were in tanks the zionists would have no trouble getting through the armor. what the zionists can't do anything about though, is the size of these two men's b.... uh bravery ;) they dont care to hide, they're right in their faces ready to open fire.

long live the LAF and bless our soldiers!!

Mowaten. To stand in the open like that and make themselves easy pick for snipers or suppressive fire is no proper way to fight. We want our soldiers to live to fight another day, not to die showing how big their cojones are.

Thumb _mowaten_ 20 January 2014, 13:59

they are observing, not fighting, and mind you the israeli soldiers on the other side are also in the open.

Mowaten and Southern, I see your points, but HA became a force to be reckoned with due to its superior fighting skills and tactics. HA excelled at stealth, and at using the element of surprise to its advantage. The LAF needs to be thinking along those lines. When you are under equipped and lack the numerical advantage, stealth and agility must be mastered. But maybe the LAF is adapting its doctrine. Who I'm I to know?

BTW it is great that our national army is manning the border. Its presence must be significantly expanded to all borders. This would make us all proud.

in that perspective i agree with you. +1 from me

The LAF has the finest berets in the theater.

(1). Philipo, it's getting quite obvious that there are many around who don't wish to see the LAF retake its normal place right? This in so many ways reminds me of the exorcist priest, who whenever he made the holy sign of the cross, the demon would make fearful noises and hit the roof as many times to disrupt the priest form continuing his prayers. But he finishes the prayers albeit in very tired form, the possessed person is exorcised and freed and back to normal. The LAF is in so many ways similar to our priest, the LAF is the one that will exorcise our sick society, from the grips of all these demons that just refuse to let Lebanon live again.

(2). Philopo. It's never a good thing to read a book only going through pair numbered pages, you would surely miss on what builds up the story. In the same way, you cannot dismiss in one go what led to the impairment of the LAF when militias became too powerful. Do take some time, you will notice that the LAF is a lot better than the image you and some others want to paint it with. No disrespects to you, the LAF means a lot to me, that's all.

They haven't done that for 65 years so why should they start getting indegestion now.

Thumb -phoenix1 20 January 2014, 15:02

No enemy is worse for Israel than the LAF because it represents the State of Lebanon. If they touch the army, then they touch an entire state, an entire people. When they touch a militia, the , militia is not the state and Israel can always get away with it Scot-free. On a one to one basis, no one is better trained than the LAF, no one has more dignity and nobleness than it. The LAF comes from all the people of Lebanon and has its confidence. But it is certainly not enough to deploy on our border with Israel, the border with Syria, that nefarious state that calls itself Al Shaqiqah is even more dangerous to us than Israel, that's where the LAF should really deploy, whether the border is delineated with Syria or not, the army must be present there and stop all the rubbish coming in and out of our country. Hopefully now with the weapons coming soon, the LAF will be present everywhere and let the militias start packing up, starting from the Palestinians to everyone else.

That's why the last time the IDF fought against the LAF was in 1948.

Research essaadiyat near damour IDF attempt to download soldiers from the air in 1970s where they met the LAF on the ground and the IDF operation failed big time and was all over news.
Yes I admit you have good air cover but once you hit gravity then it's thé opposite.

Wow, that's a lot of chest-thumping for the side that has to have UNIFIL in their country after their last so-called "victory".

BTW - Isn't south the Israel side? '“At 10:45 a.m., a patrol belonging to the Israeli enemy and accompanied by two members of (UNIFIL's) liaison apparatus dismantled and removed the two electronic devices that were placed in the border area of Adeisseh, south of the Blue Line,” a Lebanese army statement said.'
