Report: Hizbullah Taking Extraordinary Security Measures in Dahieh

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Hizbullah has started taking extraordinary security measures in its stronghold of Dahieh in Beirut's southern suburbs in light of recent attacks in the area, reported the Kuwaiti daily al-Anba on Sunday.

As part of these measures, members of the party closed off a number of roads leading to the area, limiting access to Dahieh to a few routes.

It also moved a number of its offices and residences of its officials to areas outside of Dahieh, revealed the daily.

Sources monitoring the situation stressed that Hizbullah's leadership is following up on the security file and efforts to confront groups behind the bomb attacks in Dahieh.

The party has “detailed information about the groups that are seeking to pressure Hizbullah's support base in order to force it to alter its stances,” they explained.

Moreover, Hizbullah has recently set up three military councils that are independent of each other.

One tackles the situation in Syria, the second focuses on the front with Israel, while the third addresses Lebanese affairs, said the daily.

A number of bombings had taken place in recent months in Dahieh.

Four people were killed in the latest suicide attack that took place in the Haret Hreik neighborhood on Tuesday.

Al-Nusra Front had warned that these attacks are a response to the party's fighting in the conflict in Syria alongside the country's ruling regime.

I think HA should set up a fourth council that focuses on Naharnet front.

The resistance has been very skilled, when they tackled this situation. I am not doubting any second that they will retrieve victory over the Israeli/Saudi/CIA plot.

Southern, have you finished high school ?

Thumb joker37 26 January 2014, 13:26

You are a joke. First of all it is common m14 rhetoric that hariri educated all sects, proving that he was non sectarian, now you go and say he educated sunnis.
Second the enrollment % in all communities in lebanon are more or less the same. Plenty of shia in aub, lau, ndu etc.
Youre stuck in your feudal sectarian 60s and 70s mindset.

Thumb ice-man 26 January 2014, 14:10

I sense you are a secular Shia, am I correct?

Thumb joker37 26 January 2014, 15:28

@ice keep your sectarian hating, hariri educated allll the sunnis too bad he didnt educate his own son. saado cant read and i would bet money that he has never read a book in his life.

Thumb ice-man 26 January 2014, 14:09

Why the insults @Southern? Why? It is such a shame you cannot handle an intelligent civil debate without resorting to insults. Do I sense a cultural barrier there?

Thumb ice-man 26 January 2014, 14:16

.... and please Southern, stay away from insults and explicits. It is so unlike you.... Stay above this unproductive technique.

@leb_roar: Please, stick to the topic which is about HA taking extraordinary measures in Dahieh and not about how user friendly teaching Islam can be. I noticed you tend to divert the discussions inadvertently. Please, take note.....

"Sir can you study Islam in true context, outside of Arabic?"

The sectarian Roar, there are 1.6 billion moslems in the world. Guess how many of them speak Arabic?!!!! So, yes it is possible to study Islam in languages other than Arabic.

I honestly beleive that the moslem religion produces some of the finest examples of people, many of my closest friends are moslem.
But you cannot deny that today the islamic religion is producing a lot of junk. Takfiris, terrorist bombers etc.... This point was actually raised to me by a close sunnite friend of mine. So he is sectarian against himself.

The biggest ennemy of our Shia brothers is their leadership (amal and HA). In any democratic society, you have a choice. In christian society, you choose aoun, geagea. Amongst sunnites, you have mikati or Hariri. As for shias, you have only one choice HA and the gang. Else they kill you. Ask our hero Hashem (RIP)
As for education. You know very well that HA does not want higher education for shias to keep them indoctrinated and depending on them.
You are an intelligent person. Snap out of the israel-is-evil-we-will-protect-you line that they have been brainwashing you for 2 generations, and start experiencing the world in 3 dimensions.

Again, Hezbollah, not the State of Lebanon that takes measures, nor decisions. So, what measures will Hezbollah take again? Will it frisk every ant and mouse vying to enter its areas of predominance? I mean what? No matter what resources Hezbollah may have, it can never equate with even a limping Lebanese State. There comes a time when the momentum of continuation into sheer madness must be stopped entirely and reversed. Hezbollah cannot continue dragging us into its sheer madness, its limits have been reached and thus cannot hope to continue along its destructive path and agenda as if Lebanon did not have a state to decide the fate of the nation. No matter what Hezbollah will try, I can assure it that under these circumstances, it is wasting its time and ours all. As the years go by, Hezbollah's recalcitrance is only magnifying our problems which in the first place were created by none other than Hezbollah itself.

Thumb -phoenix1 26 January 2014, 16:22

(2). Hezbollah is now facing an invisible enemy, one that operates in exactly the same stealthy ways Hezbollah has used against the Israeli occupier. The occupier is almost always rigid, with known bases and known routines, thus Hezbollah today suffers exactly from those known issues, whereas the terrorists move almost undetected and are getting highly sophisticated. Anyway, no matter what Hezbollah will try, it will fail now. Only the truth will save Hezbollah and this means some simple maths: First, within a reasonable period, withdraw from Syria. Two, sit and talk with all the parties, and agree over a reasonable period to surrender its weapons to the Lebanese State, and the state now must exist. Three, Integrate its fighters into the LAF over a gradual time. Four, continue only as a political party and not a militia forcing its will on the people and the state.

Thumb -phoenix1 26 January 2014, 16:30

(3). Five, Stop acting as the extension of others states and ideologies, this is Lebanon, a Lebanon that only exists because all confessions live side by side peacefully, not forcefully. If Hezbollah continues to persist in continuing in its own forceful ways, then the moderates that it is facing will fade and radicals will quickly replace them, making matters a lot worse all round and for everyone. Hezbollah is acting as if it was THE State. It is neither the state and never will be. Today its political opponents in Lebanon are still talking to it and with it, but if matters get worse, then all those allied against it will form their own militias, join forces and fight Hezbollah. Hezbollah will fall into the occupier category and those fighting as the liberators. All kinds of ideologies will surface, all in the fight against Hezbollah. Chaos and anarchy will set in and from there one thing will be certain, Hezbollah will go down, and so we all will.

Now that southern suburbs are semi secure and hard for the takfiris to hit they might choose to hit outside of a shiaa area. God forbid,They might hit Christian or Druze areas. It is a very big possibility. What will M8 do then? What will Hizballah do when all Lebanon becomes target for these lunatics?

Thumb Mystic 26 January 2014, 20:54

eli-g then we should all stand together as Lebanese, and remove the threat.

Awireless, how did the Pals bring destruction to the shia community? Alqaida is not a pal invention. And what about all the shia lebanese that are married to palestinians and sunni lebanese? Why marry those who brought them "destruction"? And why did the shia seek refuge in the palestinian camps during the 2006 war, does it make sence to seek refuge from those who bring you destruction? Just like you sought refuge with the syrian sunnis before you decided to go kill them and protect their opressor. Just like you sought refuge with the lebanese sunnis before vandalizing their areas on may 7th.
