Mansour: There are No Weapons in Dahieh

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour criticized on Saturday claims of the widespread possession of arms in Lebanon, adding that “there are no weapons in Beirut’s southern suburbs.”

He said: “When we speak of weapons possession, it is as if we are saying that cities in Lebanon are filled to the brim with them.”

“Some disputes happen, but where are the weapons in Dahieh?” he asked.

“I am prepared to visit the area to demonstrate that there is nothing to be found,” he stressed.

On Lebanon’s commitment to United Nations Security Council resolution 1701, the minister stated: “Lebanon is implementing and respecting it, but who is stopping Israel’s thousands of violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty?”

Lebanon is implementing 1701????? The south is an arms depot...... ! Israel withdrew from all lebanese occupied land in 2000. Yet, this militia every day threatens war under the pretext of defending lebanon. Do you expect Israel or any nation for that matter to stand still and watch this terrorist organization pile up weapons and threaten its national security?

I did not expect anything better from Berri's mouthpiece.

If that is what the minister really said, then he fails to remember what happened in 2008. Surely these weapons were not in Beirut and filling it! He fails to remember the weapons in the infamous sit-in in downtown Beirut. He fails to remember the recent incidents b/w factions in Beirut for several hours that left several people dead, members of Hezbollah included. What about the security perimeter set around the explosion a day or so ago. Surely, there were no weapons there! Surely these men had slingshots or ne'ayyfeh! How could the minister say what he said when clearly Sayyed Hassan just told us that HA is stronger in the South and has more weapons and missiles than ever before (in regards to 1701). Mr. Minister, you are either honest and that is a big issue because you are gullible or your are lying in which case you think we are gullible. Either way, you make no sense.

“When we speak of weapons possession, it is as if we are saying that cities in Lebanon are filled to the brim with them.”

hmmmm..... so where are the 60, 000 plus short, medium, and long range SHit-1 and SHit-2 and SHit-3 missiles hidden.... not in lebanon? not in cities? not in houses? I want to throw up......

First, Adnan Mansour is the Minister of Foreugn Affairs, not the Defense Minister.
Second, I appreciate Mr. Mansour's endeavour to prove that there are no weapons in Beirut's souther suburb. I have a request, can I come along with him and bring my camera? I don't trust the media...

Default-user-icon PIERRE (Guest) 31 July 2011, 09:55

This guy is Defense Minister!!! no weapons really? Yes all they have is squirt guns full of water. Who is he trying to fool?

Default-user-icon Arzak Ya Libnan (Guest) 31 July 2011, 10:16

HAHAHA this is too funny.. i am put to total ease when i hear that YOU will visit to prove there are no weapons. That is like Himmler telling everyone he will visit the concentration camps to prove there is no murder happening. These people are used to the followers who just nod their head to everything. Do you think every lebanese is a fool?? now we wait for the sheep to come and baaaa the same tune.

Thumb sasi 31 July 2011, 10:46

Default-user-icon Le Phenicien (Guest) 31 July 2011, 10:48

Sorry Naharnet , but the Lebanese Deffense minister is not Adnane Mansour , but Mr Fayez GHOSN ! Minister Adnane MANSOUR is the minister of Foreign Affairs ..

To go back to the subject , Yes there is no arms in Dahié like in the Palestinian Camps (...) as long as these camps exist , the Resistance will be on Alert all over Lebanon . Peace to all .

Default-user-icon George Breidy (Guest) 31 July 2011, 11:00

First, Adnan Mansour is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, not the Defense Minsiter.
Second, Will he allow me to join him during his proposed visit to Beirut's souther suburb to prove the non-exisitence of weapons? Can I bring my camera and take picstures freely? I kind of don't trust the media or the politicians...

Default-user-icon xen (Guest) 31 July 2011, 11:03

Default-user-icon GG Allen (Guest) 31 July 2011, 13:14

So the whole fiasco about the government disabling the telecommunication networks in south Beirut was pointless? I thought they considered those to be weapons but are now backtracking

Default-user-icon Stavors (Guest) 31 July 2011, 14:02

We need some comic relief in Lebanon. Thank you clown for putting a smile on my face.. please make sure you wear a kevlar chest while you visit Dahieh, if they allow you in, so that you can continue your wonderful work in making us all laugh.

Default-user-icon Centrist druze (Guest) 31 July 2011, 14:45

Le phenicien, the resistance weapons exist because of israel. But then again, you have made your own version of things. According to you hezballah became a resistance in order to fight Muslims, not israel lol. In case you have forgotten, during the civil war hezballah shiites, lebanese Muslims and druze were all allied with plo. Also was the 2006 war about fighting Muslims according to you?? Your an evil man trying to create civil war between Muslims and shiites, hence why you keep inciting online in the name of shiites as if they want an evil man like you to speak for them. Go take your medicine, neither march8 nor march14 needs you nor does any side want you. Your kind of rethoric is not only dangerous, its disgusting. You speak like a thug. Thank God you will return to paris soon, lebanon does not need trouble makers like you here. I can already imagine your ignorant comment that you will post now, i bet you will call me a bunch of unfounded things such as wahhabi and saudi lol

I'm wondering what is Aoun's reaction to this hush hush hush . what a great leader he is . Aoun is so honest and strait forward maybe he can tell us what happened in Dahia . or do we care to know ? a terrorist in control of a country i wonder how long the wold will tolerate something like this unless we become Somalia

Default-user-icon Youpi (Guest) 31 July 2011, 17:33

It sounds somehow like "there is no Israel in Israel"; or : "There is no brains under GMA's skullcap"
(GMA=Genetically Modofied A...hole")

Thumb ithinkthere14iam 31 July 2011, 18:11

Default-user-icon Ark (Guest) 01 August 2011, 01:50

This reminds me of
Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf:

- "There are no American infidels in Baghdad. Never!"
- "There are only two American tanks in the city."
- NO", snapped Mr al-Sahaf, "We have retaken the airport. There are NO Americans there. I will take you there and show you. IN ONE HOUR!"

Now we can add to the list:
- "There are no weapons in Dahieh!"

Default-user-icon rolfen (Guest) 01 August 2011, 04:47

Only ne22ayfe.

Default-user-icon Dino (Guest) 01 August 2011, 05:43
