Strict Security Measures near Defense Ministry HQ amid Reports of 'Terrorist Attacks'

Security measures were boosted near the Defense Ministry in Yarze following reports indicated that extremist terrorist groups have an intention to target military headquarters across Lebanon, including the ministry.

According to al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Saturday, the strict security measures were fortified after security agencies obtained information that high-ranking military officers will be targeted by terrorist acts.

The daily said that the security measures included the thorough inspection of passers-by and checking their identities.

On Friday, Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji announced that the army will “tighten the noose” on suspicious groups that might pose a threat to the country's security, noting that the military will not leave any Lebanese area “under the mercy of security chaos.”

The army chief underlined that the military “will not renounce its right to impose stability and prevent autonomous security.”

Explosions in Lebanon have created a climate of fear in the country, with residents increasingly nervous about unfamiliar cars and certain neighborhoods.

A series of deadly bombings have targeted Shiite districts of Beirut's southern suburbs and the eastern Bekaa valley in recent months. Hizbullah has a strong presence in the districts, and the attacks are believed to be in retaliation for the Shiite group's armed intervention in Syria in support of President Bashar Assad against the majority Sunni rebels seeking to topple him.

I am very fine thank you, did you send any teenagers to do suicide bombing this morning?

Thumb Mystic 08 February 2014, 08:27

Poor puppet, you seem to be hurt emotionally and personally everytime i talk about takfiris.

Qahwaji should also “tighten the noose” on the suspicious Iranian militia that always poses a threat to the country's security.

"and the attacks are believed to be in retaliation for the Shiite group's armed intervention in Syria in support of President Bashar Assad against the majority Sunni rebels seeking to topple him"

Dear General Kahwaji please start with the head of the snake that started this mess on purpose to weaken our armed forces.

According to Naharnet that is, in reality the takfiris would've attacked Lebanon with or without the intervention.

Thumb cedars2 08 February 2014, 08:40

And your benchmark for truth is Al Manar?

Thumb Mystic 08 February 2014, 08:41

Not just Al Manar but they are a good example, many other newspapers that actually do real journalism.

"Not just Al Manar but they are a good example" :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Thumb Mystic 08 February 2014, 08:54

Ofcourse, don't you see my avatar? It would've been a pity if i didn't like Al Manar.

You seem a little tense today puppet, take a few hours off and get some fresh air.

Thumb Mystic 08 February 2014, 08:56

Good to see i got myself a parrot.

Thumb cedars2 08 February 2014, 09:10

Im sure you could name a few Syrian state owned beacons of freedom and truth. Sah? Thats your concept of freedom isnt it? If you can show me one of your approved forums where Lebanese can freely express their opinions no matter who they support like Naharnet I would happily go there.

Admittedly all HA guys here and/or supporters say the same thing that the takfiris were going to attack any way
How do you know that? why don't you at least consider the possibility that they retaliate precisely because HA is fighting along side with Bashar's army??

Thumb cedars2 08 February 2014, 09:57

What else can they tell the poor Shiites that happen to be living in their areas? Ma walaw fida il sayed Bashar.
