Opposition fighters from Islamist brigades have killed at least 21 civilians and 20 pro-regime fighters in an Alawite village in Syria's Hama province, an NGO said on Monday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitoring group, said fighters from Islamist brigades including Jund al-Aqsa were behind the deaths in Maan village, in central Syria, on Sunday.
Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said there were no immediate details on how the civilians had been killed, but added that at least 10 of them appeared to be from a single family.
The group said at least 20 members of the National Defense Forces, a pro-regime militia, had been killed in the attack.
A video posted on the YouTube website, purportedly produced by Jund al-Aqsa, showed its forces moving into the village and opening fire.
The video, titled "the liberation of Maan village," shows a fighter raising a black flag often associated with radical Islamist groups atop a communications tower.
A man wearing camouflage trousers and a shirt is shown lying on the ground, his upper chest soaked in blood, and fighters can be seen loading captured ammunition onto a truck.
There is no footage of the reported civilian deaths.
Syria's President Bashar Assad is a member of the Alawite minority, whose faith is an offshoot of Shiite Islam.
The uprising against him is dominated by Sunni Muslims and has attracted a number of extremist groups, who consider non-Sunni Muslims to be infidels.

no it's not true, the islamists do not do that! it must be the shabbihas, and bashar killing his own through fake rebel groups in order to make the peaceful protesters look bad. how ingenious!

sure it is not true, HRW reported it ,Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said it, who is not trustworthy according to you M8ers right moooowaten? LOL

and here comes the other frustrated virgin... mooowaten the bashar lover!

oh, no, it's not flora, apparently wikipedia says it perfectly, to the last word:
"Fungi, which is separate from plants, animals, protists and bacteria. One major difference is that fungal cells have cell walls that contain chitin"

yea peace, we're very rude idiots who keep calling others "idiot - bugs - idiot virgins - frustrated virgin - etc" because we have no argument whatsoever. it's really pathetic of us, but thank god you were here to reveal us your light.

If true and The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has been a credible source of information and if these deaths are not result of fighting, the purpotrators should be held to account. Thosee on thiss post who support the killing machine of Bashar that slaughtered tens of thousands of civilians should be the last to complain.

Isn't amazing how these 2 failed comedians above always mock and discredit the Syrian Observatory and use the information it provides when it suits them. Those who died were killed in fighting with and alongside the regime as there are no other indications to the contrary.

you guys are really slow, arent you? here goes for the tenth time:
the "observatory", or more precisely "rami abdlerahman" is an overtly anti-assad spokesperson for the rebels. this is an undeniable fact that anyone can verify.
based on that, whatever he says has to be taken carefully, the accusations that are against the regime are likely to be exaggerated, while those against the rebels are likely to be minimized.
therefore, when he says something that incriminate the rebels, it cannot be fabrications, because he wouldnt do that. truth could actually be much more than what he said.

Mowaten - the observatory has been the most credible source of info from syria and has run afoul of the revolutionaries on many occasions. There is also great variance between their reporting and those of the moderate revolutionaries. Even if those killed by regime is half of what the observatory claimed, this is still a monstrous harvest. If people want to follow the observatory releases, they can follow them on facebook or go to their web site (google them). Also visit Human Rights Watch, UN Human RIghts commission and Amnesty International to learn more about the monstrous nature of this regime that many on this web site support.

the only ones minimizing things are proud M8er collaborators... when the regime kills or massacres , they minimize it saying it had to be done, but when the other side do things they tend to maximize it like saying all opposition members are heart eaters! LOL

21 civilians and 20 pro-regime fighters in an Alawite village in Syria's Hama province were killed! Heartbreaking news..... How Sad!

sure assir is M14... poor FT, your propaganda is just good for your FPM meetings but does not work on intelligent minds....
nice try though hopeless...
