Lebanese Man Charged with Murder of his Wife in Sydney

A Lebanese man was on Tuesday refused bail after allegedly bashing his wife to death in Sydney, Australia, media reports said.

Police said Margaret Tannous, 47, had been bludgeoned to death with a broom handle in their south west Sydney unit, Australian dailies reported.

Her husband, 55-year-old George Tannous did not apply for bail and the case was adjourned for two months.

He allegedly fled before handing himself in at Bankstown Police Station a few hundred meters from the unit where he was charged with murder.

The couple had two teenage children but were not home at the time of the alleged murder.

It is believed Mrs. Tannous' son Elie Boukarim arrived home on Monday night to see his mother being stretchered out by paramedics and police.

In a tribute on Facebook, he wrote "you were the strongest person I knew.”

"My mother, my angel, my life, my queen, the closest person to me, how could this happen to you?" the tribute reads.

"Why would someone ever want to or even think of doing this to you?

"You taught me that the most power you have in this life is in your brain and not your fists or your muscles."

Margaret worked as a migration agent in the Lebanese community.

Leviticus 20:9

If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.

Or

Exodus 35:2

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

when phil says "What a sick culture we have", he means "What a sick culture YOU have".

e wants us to believe he is lebanese so he pretends to include himself in the "we", but he's here all day praising israel and bashing lebanon. each one is free to draw his own conclusions, but i think he is a fake, only here to insult us under disguise.

as for women abuse, it is the lowest form of cowardice and evilness, men like this should be put to death. but nobody can say it is due to lebanese culture, it sadly happens everywhere in the world. in france for instance, a woman dies from conjugal violence every 3 days.

Deuteronomy 13:6-9

"If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying: Let us go and worship other gods (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other, or gods of other religions), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to DEATH

 2 Chronicles 15:13

"All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman."

Don't assume Phil,

Read why would he possibly kill her in the bible.

Just because it's in the Bible (or any "holy" book for that matter) doesn't make it right. These books have a lot of things that people with any common sense should ignore.

JJ

NO other holy book has these verses

RIP and may your soul rest in peace.
It is sad to hear about tragedies caused by family violence. What is happening to the Lebanese culture and family structure is a reflection of what is happening to us politically and economically. I pray for a reverse in direction soon.

@ibnsouthern: The topic is about a shia man who killed his wife in Australia not about terrorism. Please, stick to the topic!

Thumb _mowaten_ 18 February 2014, 19:49

walla bravo, George Tannous is certainly a shia name. *taps ice-boy on the shoulder
