Hundreds of Islamists held a protest in the northern port city of Tripoli after the Tarawih prayers on Wednesday night to condemn Syria’s deadly crackdown on protestors calling for reform.

Islamist and Salafist groups, in addition to al-Jamaa al-Islamiyah and Hizb ut-Tahrir held the demonstration in Tripoli’s Abi Samra neighborhood in support of the Syrian people.

The protestors condemned “the massacres committed by the Syrian regime against demonstrators” in the cities of Homs, Deir Azzor and Hama.

The anti-Assad demonstrators marched through several Tripoli streets all the way to al-Shiraa street where they held prayers for the soul of those killed in Syria.

You are cowards radical terrorists, where you were when Syrian regime was massacaring the people of Tripoli and most Lebanese for almost thirty years during their occupation to Lebanon. Yes there is God, but he is not on your side and shamefull when you see supporters of his regime or gainst his regime, the policy of flip-flopers, this what happened when you feed fire, it will grow and eat you, so go back to your homes and mind our own business.

Thank you for not demonstrating when the Syrians were occupying Lebanon and cheikh Fariq was filling his pockets while fleecing the Lebanese coffres. It shows how genuine you all are.
