March 14 Urges Army to Clarify Israeli Strike: Hizbullah is Not Sole Protector of Lebanon's Border

The March 14 General Secretariat condemned on Thursday Hizbullah's statement on the Israeli strike that targeted one of its positions on Monday, saying that the army is the sole protector of the Lebanese border.

It demanded in its weekly statement that “the Army Command issue a clear and honest communique over the details of the strike.”

Moreover, it noted that Hizbullah's statement did not reveal if the strike took place within Lebanese or Syrian territory.

“The only way to put an end to confusion over such matters lies in allowing the army to deploy along the Lebanese-Syrian border, with the support of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon in accordance with U.N. Security Council resolution 1701,” it stressed.

“The strike is linked to the Syrian conflict and with what right does Hizbullah drag Lebanon and the Lebanese people against their will towards this crisis?” it wondered.

“Hizbullah's history of resisting Israel has become tarnished by its participation in the crimes taking place against the Syrian people,” said the March 14 General Secretariat.

Israeli jets struck on Monday a Hizbullah position near the Jinta region in the Bekaa near the Lebanese-Syrian border.

The party said that none of its members were killed or hurt in the incident, vowing that it will choose the appropriate time and place to retaliate to the attack.

Yes indeed, the Army is to be the only protector of Lebanese sovereignty and that includes the border. The problem of being undermanned and underfunded will hopefully be a thing of the past as the international community enforces its support for the Lebanese national army. I agree with this article.

gotta love how march 14 condemns a hezbollah statement so much more harshly than they condemned the israeli strike. and then one wonders why we can't trust them with a defense strategy.
they follow saudies like puppies, who follow the US like puppies, who follow israel like puppies.

Mowaten, if my neighbor invites rowdy guest and doesn't kick the habit, whom do I blame, the guests or my neighbor?

Now day after day your are proving me right and i thank you for this, that you continue to prove you are fool and dont deserve to be debated. You ask where was the army at the start of the war well why don't you ask your march 8 government that was in power from the start and the only reason terrorist are flooding over the border is quite obvious as the nose on your small head your buddies hizbollah rolled the red carpet for them and they will never leave because hizbollah thrives on kaos my unintelligent friend.

Thumb ice-man 27 February 2014, 16:26

still on medication?

Thumb FlameCatcher 27 February 2014, 16:32

Roar ... why would they ask the army to clarify IF the base was in Syria ?

In all cases, Hezbollah IS NOT ENTITLED to setting up military bases in Lebanon.

They deserve to be bombed to hell for putting our country at risk!

Thumb FlameCatcher 27 February 2014, 16:48

HIV means Hezbollah is a VIRUS ! needs to be eliminated :)

Thumb FlameCatcher 27 February 2014, 16:52

Why should I bother ? Israel and Takfiris are doing the dirty work ... I sit on the sidelines and enjoy sipping beer under the sun.

Let them mutually eradicate each other !

But the moment Israel / Takfiris step on our turf because of Hezbollah's arrogance and crimes, we will no longer support Hezbollah. We will no longer side with them. We will watch them die and pay for their crimes ! We paid enough in 2006 to repeat the same mistake and support this party of terrorists !

Thumb FlameCatcher 27 February 2014, 17:09

Viruses fade away on their own... As such, Hezbollah, which is built on an illusion, has no solid foundation, has NO PLANS for the future. Has no idea of how to build our country and economy. How to create jobs, bring back tourists... They will expire on their own and much sooner than you think !

Please, because your a die hard fan of the Kezb, explain how Lebanon will prosper thanks to Hezbollah ! If you can name me just ONE plan they have for our country, I will drop everything and fight with them in Syria !

Thumb FlameCatcher 27 February 2014, 17:38

Yalla go die in Syria if you believe in Hassan Nasrallah and shut up already.

Or pray to become Israel and Takfiri's next "MARTYR".

Are you ready for that ?

"Dillusions of Grandeur" you say ? Go ask Hassouna and his pet Aoun about that ...

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 17:42

@the_roar, you just can't help yourself can you? BTW I responded to you with respect and candor when you declared your departure. I invited you back and asked you never to fall in the trap of insults...but unfortunately your purpose is clear. There are elements from both sides on this forum with one purpose: perpetuate hatred and lack of civility to peacefully resolve our differences.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 18:36

@FlameCatcher, I consider HA to be my staunch opponent. As such I have studied him to the best of my ability and learned that he is a formidable enemy that should not to be taken lightly. He will not vanish on his own no matter how much anyone wishes it. He is entrenched, determined, well organized, and exceptionally well-funded. He is committed to his cause and agenda, very courageous and bold in his pursuits of his regional and local goals. Yes, he has made some errors that slows him down a bit but he is a survivor and he will outlast his foes. HA has oppened my eyes to his global reach and danger as well as impact. HA frightens me and keeps me awake at night. Marginalizing him and mocking him is a huge mistake. He needs to be outsmarted and outmaneuvered at every turn otherwise he will continue to hold us hostages at gunpoint indefinitely. He first took our liberty, he then hijacked of our free will and soon he will rule over the entire country unimpeded.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 19:58

@geha, you are 100% correct, there are changes and obscure political schemes I am completely oblivious to and in the dark about. I am simply an observer with an opinion. I have no insight into the grand scheme of things. You make bold statements, can you please provide reading materials that support your conclusions? This will help us all in our pursuit to debate while informed.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:06

@M11er, my dire need is to figure out how to peacefully resolve and make unnecessary HA's raison d'etre. I have no clue how to do this and I am convinced nobody else has figured this out either. Even then, I am convinced if HA's raison d'etre is nullified, he will manufacturer another reason to continue to be a state within a state. I wish someone smart or a group of smart and impartial people would begin examining this problem in a civilized and rational manner in order to free us peacefully from HA's enslavement. The question is how to incentivize HA to abandon his weapons for the greater good of the nation.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:10

All good and well @the_roar. Do not fall in the trap of insults regardless of how many insults you receive. Ignore, ignore and ignore some more is the name of the game. If you are interested in giving your point of view for the betterment of Lebanon, you have to understand many will resort to belittling and insulting you. It is par for the course and tougher skin is required. Be better than them, rise above and soon you will not be trifled with.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:16

@the_roar, I am not sure what time it is in Australia, but in Houston Texas, it is 12:15 PM...I am at work and trying to post as fast as I can during my launch hour...sorry I didn't type fast enough for you. I answered you below.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:19

I meant, I answered you above ;)

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:49

@M11er, not at all. I think my point is being missed. @the_roar made a big exit from the forum a few weeks ago claiming unfair, unjust and hurtful behavior towards him. He further vowed never to return. I am simply re-iterating that being insulted is no excuse to lower oneself to the other's level and then respond in kind. He claims he knows my politics and I am picking on him. Clearly he either does not understand me, does not want to understand me or he is too clever for me and playing right into his hand.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 20:50

I am neither M8 or M14, both are the problem. One is armed and forcing the other at gunpoint and the other whines and can't seem to figure out how to go about it. so I sympathize with the one being held hostage and his freedom hijacked but lament his failure to come up with a solution. I don't care who thumbs me up or down, I am not here to make friends or garner anyone's approval. This is a forum for commenting on the news and expressing our views. Neither M8 or M14 is going to change anything insulting each other.

Thumb Mystic 27 February 2014, 20:57

Another lie Mr. geha, Hezbollah fighters does not get paid for their duties. They are all volunteers, so is the Iranian guard.

Thumb Bandoul 27 February 2014, 18:38

@the_roar, did you not post a couple of hours ago "Why was your wife ..HIV positive?" Do you not consider that an attack?

Thumb Mystic 27 February 2014, 21:28

M14 condemning Hezbollah as always, and not the Israelis. I doubht M14 knows the meaning of honor.

Missing peace 27 February 2014, 22:19

sure FPMers claim they want hezbis to "disarm" but all their acts point in the opposite direction... either they are real hypocrits and dishonest with their ally or they just play the hypocrits in front of lebanese... in both cases they are just hypocrits with no dignity...
at least geagea -like him or not- is coherent with his principles unlike aoun who pretended they were a terrorist militia for years and now licks their boots just like he said that the assad regime had to disappear but now supports them! LOL....

Missing peace 27 February 2014, 22:21

it explains why some chiwawas here bark so frenetically to defend FPM as they cannot justify its flipflopping attitude so it drives them mad... just like someone locked in a round tower and tell him to find a sweet in the corner!

Missing greatpierro 28 February 2014, 07:55

Indeed we want to defend the lebanese sovereignty from the presence of hizbullah and it's iranian asters
