Speaker Nabih Berri called on Saturday parliament to convene next week in order to discuss the government policy statement, reported Voice of Lebanon radio.

It said that he called parliament to meet at 10:30 a.m. on March 19 and 20.

The cabinet will be subject to a vote of confidence after the policy statement discussions are complete, it added.

The statement was approved late on Friday night after arduous talks between the rival March 8 and 14 camps over the contentious issue of the resistance and the role of the state in confronting Israel.

The three ministers of the Phalange Party and Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi voiced reservations however over the clause related to resistance against Israel.

"By the virtue of the state's responsibility to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the government stresses the state's duty and efforts to liberate the Shebaa Farms, the Kfarshouba Hills and the occupied part of Ghajar (village) through all legitimate means, while stressing the right of Lebanese citizens to resist Israeli occupation, repel its aggressions and regain the occupied land," the policy statement read.

... to liberate the Shebaa Farms, the Kfarshouba Hills and the occupied part of Ghajar (village) through all legitimate means"

This means that this armed group will never integrate or hand in their arms for as long as these areas are still occupied.

These areas will remained occupied for a very long time if not ever.

This means only one thing no hope of this armed group to ever integrate or lay down their arms.

Will this be their last resort even if they lose politically?

Is it sitting in their back pocket so when all avenues are closed they will mention we are still occupied?

The struggle continues.....

"right of Lebanese citizens to resist Israeli occupation". Does that mean we all can buy weapons and ammunition for the purpose of defending Lebanin against occupation? Of course, we can not use these weapons against our fellow Lebanese or elsewhere! Right?

Yes I live in tripoli in jabal mohsen and will get Syrian made weapons to resist Israel. But if you live in ma3rab and have reconnaissance drone above your house you cannot acquire weapon and shoot it down. Also if you live outside the mouraba3 al amni in Beirut suburbs you cannot acquire weapons.

Right but if you live in the right area no problem. Buy everything you want and the state won't intervene. This is not right!

Is this old fixture serious, discuss what? Are these crooks being paid to discuss, or paid to get matters moving? There's nothing to discuss, vote on it, approve it and let's move, people are now getting seriously angry.
