The Internal Security Forces on Sunday announced the arrest of nine people, after Sidon resident Wadiha al-Baidawi was killed Friday by celebratory gunfire while watching a wedding from the window of her apartment in Sidon.

The 19-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a bullet to the head, the ISF said in a statement.

"Following investigations, members of the Sidon police station in coordination with the Intelligence Bureau arrested Saturday six people who had fired weapons during the wedding," it added.

The arrested men are five Lebanese and a Palestinian, the ISF stated.

It added that the army's intelligence branch in the South handed the Sidon police station three people – two Lebanese and a Palestinian -- who were also involved in the shooting.

"A pistol and two pump-action rifles in addition to the gunshot that hit the woman and four bullet shells have been seized,” the ISF announced.

“Following investigations, it turned out that the Palestinian M. A. and the Lebanese H. W. were not involved in the shooting and they were released while the others were kept in custody and investigations are underway under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities,” it added.

The perpetrators should serve jail time and made to pay financial compensation to the woman's family in the 100s of thousands of Dollars. There should enact severe laws to curb such a retarded practice.
The youth of Lebanon are suffering from lack of CIVIL teachings in public schools (Tarbeya Madaneyya). Each school teaches loyalty to their brand of militia and party and sect....... reinstate the STate Curriculum and make it mandatory.

Wether it's the roads or in the streets - Lebanon a full of uneducated lawless animals. Thank God I only visit on holiday and can get out when all the bullshit politics and arrogance becomes overwhelming. What ever happened to the beautiful Lebanon of the 50's and 60's - what on earth went wrong?!

Bani Maarouf, where did you see evidence of Hezbollah involvement, where? We all have our profound divergences with Hezbollah and I stand first in line when it comes to it, but for you to posts so ridiculously means one thing and one thing alone, that there are times you make no sense at all. If the article gave one single hint at HA involvement, then you could be forgiven, but nothing? Which is why I keep repeating the same thing on you, You Lack Intelligence.
