Al-Mustaqbal bloc MP Samir al-Jisr on Friday denied telling al-Joumhouria daily that former premier Saad Hariri and Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat had held talks in Turkey last weekend.

In the remarks attributed to him by the newspaper, al-Jisr allegedly wondered why people would be surprised if two high ranking officials met. "Al-Mustaqbal movement has kept a thin thread with Jumblat," the daily quoted him as saying.

He also advised Hizbullah to stop accusing al-Mustaqbal of smuggling weapons to the neighboring country to help the uprising against the Syrian regime.

For his part, the deputy of the PSP chief, Doreid Yaghi, denied to Akhbar al-Yawm news agency that Jumblat held a meeting with Hariri in Turkey.

Hezbollah was providing weapons to the Syrian army? It amazes me how mustaqbul politicians speak such utter rubbish comments! What is the purpose of that comment?

Hizballah is providing arms and men.. men are more needed than arms.

Jumblat's guy are ashamed to say that Jumblat met with the imbecile, while the imbecile's guys are desperate to make us believe that the imbecile still matters. Guys, the Party and the party are both over. GET OVER IT. MAFIA BA7.

It's funny how articles are edited after being published which often make comments like previous one, not make sense. Naharnet, why was the al-jisr's quote about Hezbollah suppling weapons to Syria, edited out? Does he now deny he said that as well?
