MP and Former Minister Marwan Hamadeh expressed relief after his meeting with a delegation from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon on Thursday.

Hamadeh, who escaped an assassination attempt in 2004, told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Friday that “it was a day full of conflicting emotions.”

“I am relieved for the progress of investigations to unveil the conspiracy that targeted the country as a whole, and we were modest targets in it,” the lawmaker said.

However, the daily quoted Hamadeh as saying: “I am revolted to find out that the weapons of some (parties) aren’t headed towards the enemy.”

Earlier on Thursday, a delegation from the joint U.N. and international investigators commission held talks with Ministers Elias Murr and Marwan Hamadeh and ex-LBCI anchorwoman May Chidiac on the investigations and their findings.

The commission informed Murr, Hamadeh and Chidiac that two of the Hizbullah suspects accused in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri are also involved in their murder attempts, Central News Agency reported on Thursday.

The commission also informed them that the two suspects are also involved in the assassination of former Lebanese Communist Party leader George Hawi, who was killed in a bomb attack planted in his car in 2005.

This repulsive low-life piece of filth should have been jailed and hanged already for being the master Fabrikante and the step-dad of Zuhayr al Siddiq. The fact that he is still free to continue with his filth is revolting to all decent Lebanese.

Arms should be exclusive to the Army and legal security forces who are accountable to the government. The government is accountable to the parliament, and the parliament is ultimately accountable to the people... this is the basis of democracy.

Hizballah has no excuse, specially now that they control the government, to have weapons outside the government control. It only shows that they don't want to be accountable to the people.

Normal people can choose to vote for whoever they agree with, but in current conditions, event if you vote against hizballah policies, they don't care because they force their views through arms.

Even if ones agrees with their political views and goals, we cannot agree with breaking the basic democratic process.

Time to turn the page. Israel isn't an enemy of the Lebanese people. Time to go for peace. Why should we remain at war for the sake of the Palestinians? Look how grateful they are.... For our solidarity. It brought us nothing but troubles.

If it is not targeted against Israel, then what is this friend-of-Israel worried about? Don't mess with them like this low-life did on May 5 and you/he shall never get to experience a humiliating May 7. But what can you do with a punk who lost whatever little brain this low-life had to begin with before the explosion pulverized it without anybody noticing?
