Hariri: Hizbullah Must Sever Ties with STL Suspects and Cooperate with Tribunal

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri called on Wednesday Hizbullah to sever ties with the suspects in the assassination of former Premier Rafik Hariri, urging it to take “an historic stand” to cooperate with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

He said in a statement: “Hizbullah and its chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah should put an end to the policy of evading the STL, cooperate with the tribunal, and hand over the suspects in order to ensure the establishment of a fair trial.”

“Now that STL Prosecutor Judge Daniel Bellemare has submitted the sufficient evidence to commence the trial period, all sorts of political and media outrage over the tribunal must end,” he added.

“Justice will provide stability for our people and protect Lebanon,” he noted.

“What kind of diabolical thinking could have taken over the minds of the suspects to commit such a crime and drag Lebanon onto a terrible and bloody road that killed a number of Lebanon’s political, national, and intellectual elite?” Hariri asked.

“No matter how great the intimidation and threats, nothing will be able to thwart justice and we repeat our pledge that justice will not be employed to achieve revenge,” he stressed.

On the Lebanese government’s position in the STL, the former premier said: “The rhetoric of attempting to outsmart the public … and attempts to escape responsibility in capturing the suspects will no longer work and these matters will only portray the government as failing to cooperate with the tribunal.”

“The indictment and all the accompanying evidence are too overwhelming to be outmaneuvered,” Hariri concluded.

Wiliat al-Libnan........The Hezz are proving they did it by not openly embracing the court. If they have so much evidence iluding to something else let them show it there.

The think there wiliat al-fakie stands for so much, but when the Ayatollah tells Syria and the Hezz to murder then al justice must stop. The whole Shia apparatus is on trial here.

Apparently; Hezbollah thinks it's above the law on a national and international level. It's time someone teaches them a lesson.

Ok I get it, Harriri is Mossad and so is all his entourage, You have the majority of the Government today so let's bring those four suspects to Court and prove everyone and the Whole World that they are all Zionists. Should we also try those who act based on orders from outside regimes such as Iran by kidnapping 2 Zionists in 2006 and destroy our entire country's infrastructure along with 2000 people dead under some fake slogan "Army-People-Resistance"?? No no no let's keep doing those tic-tac games to justify the Militia's existence and outlaws.

Why is Hariri so afraid of Hezbollah that he's asking for the 4 suspects as if they have nothing to do with Hezb? Not only these 4 should be indicted, but Hezb as well because they are implicated.

Enough pussy-footing around Hezb. You give them an inch & the take a yard. You treat them with respect & they abuse you. Hezb's agenda is not in the interests of Lebanon. They have been dragging us deeper and deeper. If they really lov Lebanon, they should drop their arms & stop domineering & attempting to brainwash the Lebaese population. Those that paying them lip service are afraid of them.
