Iraqi Arrested in Haret Hreik on Terrorism Charges

An Iraqi national was arrested on Tuesday on charges of carrying out terrorist activities, announced the Army Command in a statement.

It said that Imad Fawzi Ali al-Saadi was arrested in Beirut's southern suburb of Haret Hreik.

He is wanted on terrorism charges and driving a BMW X5 without legal papers.

He has since been referred to the concerned authorities for investigation.

The army and security forces have been carrying out in recent months a security plan aimed at cracking down on gunmen and wanted suspects in the northern city of Tripoli and the eastern Bekaa region.

It has also been adopting strict measures in Beirut's southern suburbs in search of wanted individuals.
