Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif sent a cable to his Lebanese counterpart Jebran Bassil and another to Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to congratulate them on the occasion of Liberation Day.

"This is a historical victory that was achieved as a result of cohesion between the Lebanese of all sects and political parties, and thanks to the efforts of the resistance's heroes,” Zarif said in the letter to Bassil.

He continued: “It is a turning point in Lebanon's modern history which promises more victories and achievements against the occupying Zionist entity.”

And in his letter to Nasrallah, the Iranian FM considered that this “historic saga will keep reminding people of the Lebanese and the fighters' sacrifices, especially of those who are keen on preserving the resistance."

Liberation Day, which is celebrated on May 25 of each year, commemorates the Israeli army’s withdrawal from south Lebanon in May 2000.

Nasrallah is scheduled to make a televised speech on Sunday 25 at 5:00 p.m. for the occasion.

Recall your Glorious militia, then you can "Congratulate" Lebanon on being liberated.

Mr. Zarif, congratulate whom on what liberation if you please? Liberation from our freedom, from our dignity, from our chance to have finally become a state? Liberation or enslavement ya mister? Congratulate whoever you wish, for those you are congratulate today are the very ones who have never shown respect for a unified Lebanon. What you have today is a Lebanon that is poor, hopeless, of mass migration of the Lebanese from their country, replaced by your beloved Syrians, ma3leysh ya Zarif, what goes up will come down, your congratulations do ring hollow right now, and will be more so soon. Shu hal bala mokh 3an jad.

We would congratulate them too if they had any credit !

Thank you Bassil for Liberating the South ! You're great efforts will go down in history !

Thank you Nasrallah for making Israelis shiver and flee the south like little girls. They were really running for their lives !

Thank you M8 idiots for believing in this crap ! Otherwise, we would not have such a great day as "Liberation Day".

Lebanon's real Liberation Day is on April 30 when Syria pulled out ! Hezbollah has done nothing but try to prolong Syria's hegemony because Hassan Nasrallah and his sheep are traitors ! So is Aoun !

I don't know about Aoun, but I wouldn't call HA traitors. They publicly and unconditionally swear allegiance to Iran, so technically they're not betraying anyone. HA has always said in public that their vision for Lebanon is one of an Islamic Republic in the same image as Iran, so again, they're not betraying anybody, on the contrary, they are trying to do exactly what they said they want to do. The betrayal comes from whoever is allied with them while denying this allegiance and public vision.
