Hizbullah Vows Not to Intervene in Iraq, Warns of ISIL Spread

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Hizbullah stressed on Friday that it will not intervene in the security situation in Iraq, expressing fear of the spread of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

“Hizbullah has nothing to do with Iraq... Iraq is bigger than the capabilities of the party,” Hizbullah's Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Walid Sakariya told al-Joumhouria newspaper.

He stressed that “it's time to end the abnormal phenomena of ISIL.”

Hizbullah has deployed thousands of fighters into neighboring Syria to back President Bashar Assad's army as he battles insurgents who have been trying to overthrow him for the past three years.

“The developments in Iraq will have major repercussions on the situation in the area and the policies followed by all states, especially the U.S. policies,” Sakariya said.

The lawmaker reassured that the “situation in Lebanon is still stable and will remain as it is as long as there's agreement between the political parties to prevent ISIL from entering the country.”

Hizbullah, a long-standing ally of both Iran, Syria, and Iraq says it is supporting Assad against Takfiris (Sunni extremists) who are targeting Syria's Alawite and Christian minorities.

Jihadists from ISIL have swept up a huge swathe of predominantly Sunni Arab territory in northern and north-central Iraq, including the second city Mosul.

Forces from Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region have meanwhile taken control of Kirkuk, an ethnically divided northern city they have sought to rule for decades.

scared?
why did you get involved in Syria?

Thumb geha 13 June 2014, 10:05

how about you look at it in a different way?
iran through its soldiers and Iraqi soldiers plus hizbushaitan have bben making advances in Syria.
with their incursion in Iraq, isil got a lot of US military equipment :)plus they diverted the attention to defending Iraq.
if they retreat with all the US weapons they acquired back into Syria, what will happen?

Thumb geha 13 June 2014, 11:20

imbecile FT

as usual you come up with the stupidest comments :)

hizbushaitan fighting in Syria has brought nusra and idil here in Lebanon.
so stop dwelling on this matter.
if these terrorist(isil and nusra) came to Lebanon without the terrorist hizbushaitan instigating it, we would all be fighting them.
but your hizbushaitan decided otherwise and went killing babies in Syria.

so what did you expect?

over 35 hizbushaitan killed operatives were brought in yesterday alone from Syria.

Yep FT Hezbollah is now "protecting" Jounieh, what would the Christians do without that "protection". They are also "protecting" Lassa, Jdeideh, Haddath, Sweifat, Mchane, Hsoun, Amchit, Tannourine... their "protection" is spreading like wild fire. It's akin to the "protection" the Zionists began to provide to the Palestinians at the beginning of the last century. Same M.O., the Zionists claimed those were Jewish historically land, HA claims Jbeil, Keserwan, Matn were historically Muslim lands. But kidding aside FT is right, now that the Syrian government is no longer able to "protect" the Christians of Lebanon they needed a new "protector". Some people go from the sublime to the ridiculous, but only FT goes from the ridiculous to the more ridiculous to the even more ridiculous.

inbreading is rampant only withing the community of the zero IQ rogue citizens busy with illegal construction and with "protecting" Jounieh while daydreaming of one day God willing evolving up to a one IQ living orgasms.

Of course, the Assad regime and the Hizb are not fighting ISIL. They help ISIL by focusing all their attention on ISIL enemies in Syria.

Missing ArabDemocrat.com 13 June 2014, 23:28

The opinions of anyone that actually believe this mockery of an election in Syria are suspect.

Thumb popeye 13 June 2014, 08:54

The terror party is already fighting in Iraq and everything else they say is untrue.

Phil
How is this situation a win win situation? Ever thought about its repercussions on Lebanon should HA interfere in Iraq?

Thumb FlameCatcher 13 June 2014, 10:15

Why not intervene in Irak ?

Why are Islamists in Syria a threat for Lebanon but not ISIL in Irak?

They are spreading like wildfire ! Hezbollah, please protect us... it's the apocalypse unrolling and Nasrallah is our Saviour ! The new Mehdi, the return of Christ on earth !

Missing peace 13 June 2014, 11:23

simple = ISIL appeared in syria : hezbollah intervened
ISIL appears in irak : iran intervenes...

it is all a scheme so that the shiite islamist revolution intervenes with a good pretext they created and encouraged... typical policy that has been working in Lebanon : set the fire then come as a fire brigade to put it out! and you get the sheep masses to follow you because you have scared them

Thumb FlameCatcher 13 June 2014, 14:21

Yep, just like Fath el Islam! It's Bashar's specialty !

Just like you accuse the US of staging 9/11 as an excuse to invade Irak (and you're probably right).

There is the always the official reason to go to war and the untold horrible truth about these wars.

Hezbollah has to lie about "protecting Lebanon" when intervening in Syria because what they are really protecting is their lifeline. No more Bashar, no more Hezbollah as we know it ! They would no longer be able to smuggle weapons, cash, drugs and whatever through the border as they used to making all the more difficult to sustain the great resistance ! Especially that Iran can no longer afford to fund it ! It's about survival of the resistance !

What do you think Hezbollah's prize is for protecting Bashar ? They are doing it for free ?

Missing peace 13 June 2014, 14:43

sure the worm... you are sooooo blinded by your hezbi fanatism that you see everything through their eyes and lies... you must be a happy thing: no need to think as others think for you....the pure empty brain specimen....

Thumb freedomarch 13 June 2014, 14:11

It is shame Fart Thrower why you are leaving your Golden Shrines, Mehdi's Resting place, get overrun and you doing nothing here on nahar net. If I were you I would go leave right away to Najaf and deal withose terrorists... One thing keep Lebanon Terrorists free, All terrorists.

Thumb cedre 13 June 2014, 14:53

isil and hizbiran both serve Iran, US and Israel interests in syria, lebanon and iraq...

Thumb cedre 13 June 2014, 18:35

no if taliban were iranian stooges, Khamenei wouldnt have allied with the great satan against them...

Thumb Mystic 13 June 2014, 16:24

Ofcourse they wont, Iraq is too far away from Lebanon. But the Salafis wont get much further now.

Thumb FlameCatcher 13 June 2014, 16:53

Iraq is too far away but Iran is not ???

Iraq is much closer to us than Iran. At least its Arab ! Yalla, go fight to protect your Arab "brothers" instead of your persian ayatollah of hell !

Thumb Maxx 13 June 2014, 19:38

Ha ha ha! Heard that one before. But when Iran will say "Jump!", you'll say "From which floor?".

Thumb cedre 13 June 2014, 21:08

they should be able to do it, but maliki told them to flee leaving uniforms and weapons...

Default-user-icon Le dude (Guest) 14 June 2014, 00:55

irak is the place i wouldnt mind them (ha) going... but thats a place where iran can interfere directly so they arent really needed.
but this whole thing is interesting... is ISIS really an independent group to which iran and the us can have a common enemy? or did the iraki(with support of iran) forces let isis make the move so that they can get the weapons and transport it to syria to fight against qaida and fsa and make the us negotiate or ask iran's help to fight them.. ?
or was it a US intelligence operation to put pressure on iran and irak (i don think the kurds would make a move without the support of the US)
endless possibilities here
