Two Syrians Freed for Ransom, Kidnappers Still Hold a Third

Two Syrian nationals who were kidnapped in Baalbek Monday were freed on Tuesday for a $20,000 ransom, the state-run National News Agency stated.

Khalil Ibrahim al-Ali and his brother Abdel Karim and Zaydan Salman al-Hamad, all Syrians, were kidnapped Monday night in al-Hillanyieh on the Baalbek road in the Bekaa region.

Al-Ali brothers were freed for a $20,000 ransom, but the kidnappers still hold al-Hamad and demand a $500,000 ransom to free him.

hillaniyeh is 20kms away from baalbek, and only 10kms from zahle.

i wonder why naharnet choses to say baalbek road instead of zahle road? is it so that sectarian propagandists like jerry can vomit their daily dose of hate, even though it seems the victims were shia?

Do you expect the kidnappers to carry out their kidnappings right in their front yard! Those kidnapped were Syrians so I doubt they were Shiites. Second, the article said "were kidnapped Monday night in al-Hillanyieh on the Baalbek road in the Bekaa region." Third, Zahle has no history of kidnapping people for ransom. Fourth, you are a known propagandist.

flamethrower; do you have any selfies, you tubes, IDs, bank transfers, Western Union, Banker's drafts, Bitcoins, Eurobonds, etc to substantiate your accusations against naharnet?

Thumb _mowaten_ 22 July 2014, 12:42

first when it happens in other areas you have no problem accusing certain sides of doing "it right in their front yard"

second that doesnt mean anything, there are lots of syrian shias and alawites, especially around our borders, and many came to lebanon to escape the sectarian massacres

third i know what the article said, but naharnet keeps naming baalbek in all events that happen in the bekaa, even when far away and unrelated. sounds like stigmatization

fourth, remember the estonian cyclists who were kidnapped in zahle? turns out they were abducted by a group led by Wael Abbas and Khaled Homayed, who were active with the syrian rebels and operating in arsal

fifth, that baseless slander against doesnt add anything to your feeble points.

correction: baseless slander against *me

mowaten; when it's a fact it's not slander. Calling you a propagandist is not an insult nor slander, it's stating the obvious.

15 minutes ago The army carried out raids in Brital over the abduction of three Syrians on Monday night.

Can you explain why the Army is carrying out raids now in Brital? I thought so!

Thumb _mowaten_ 22 July 2014, 13:14

goes to show how loose you are with "facts". just because you claim it does not make it a fact. and i know for a fact that you are wrong, so buzz off

Thumb ex-fpm 22 July 2014, 13:41

Amazing, the facts are in front of your eyes that the army is raiding Brital and you still defending!
