Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah pledged on Friday to do everything his party perceives as a “duty” to help the Palestinian resistance in the face of Israeli atrocities, considering also that fighters in Gaza have emerged victorious from the ongoing war.

“We tell our brothers in Gaza we are with you and beside you and we will do anything that we perceive is a duty in all fields,” Nasrallah said in a speech he gave at the annual celebration of Quds Day at the Sayyed al-Shuhada complex in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Nasrallah, who appeared in person in front of cheering crowds, assured that Hizbullah and the Palestinian resistance are “real partners in struggle and in hopes.”

“Hizbullah did and will continue to stand by the Palestinian people and by the resistance in Palestine. Hizbullah did not spare any support for the resistance,” he said, adding that "Iran and Syria have also endorsed the resistance in Palestine for years with all available media, financial and logistical means.”

But the Shiite leader also called for Arab support for fighters battling Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"We call on Arab and Islamic nations to endorse lifting the siege (imposed on the Gaza Strip) because it contributes to daily Palestinian deaths...and we urge political, moral and financial support until a decision is reached to arm the resistance,” he noted.

Nasrallah explained: “Gaza, with all its blood, human remains, and victories, must be above all considerations, all calculations and all sensitivities...Our responsibility towards this crucial event remains putting all differences, sensitivities, and problems aside to approach the Gaza case as a people and a resistance's cause.”

Hizbullah's leader considered that the Palestinian resistance can emerge victorious from the ongoing bloody war, hailing the fighters' achievements and pointing out at the same time to the Israeli military's shortcomings.

“When we reach day 18 of the war amid Israeli and international failures to achieve goals in Gaza, this means the (Palestinian) resistance has triumphed. Gaza, while burying its martyrs, has triumphed through the logic of the resistance and will triumph in the future,” he confidently stated.

"What does it mean when the resistance rejects a ceasefire and Israel rushes to accept it?” he noted.

Nasrallah then went on to list the points of strength that supported the Palestinian resistance in its current battle against Israel, and these included the insistence on lifting the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, resilience and “greatness” in the battlefield, taking initiatives in the battlefield, firing rockets towards Israel and targeting unprecedented sites.

"Great trust” in God and in the resistance, people's resilience and their support to fighters, as well as the rejection of regional and international pressures which was manifested in political resilience also contributed to the Palestinian fighters' achievements, he said.

Meanwhile, Israel was confused in deciding on the war's objectives, its intelligence failed in determining the capacity of the Palestinian resistance and the location of the hidden rockets and of fighters, and its air force failed in the battle, according to the Hizbullah leader, who considered this last point “an important thing for Gaza and for Lebanon.”

Nasrallah remarked that “it is not easy for (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu to credit the resistance for this achievement.”

“And I am sure some Arab leaders are telling him to continue but at the end the resistance will impose a solution on Israelis,” he said.

“Israelis will eventually realize that they cannot continue as such, and they will call on the Americans to look for a solution,” he added.

  • 25 July 2014, 18:02

Nasrallah: The U.S. is covering up for this war and is supporting it through the media and political stances. The U.N. Security Council and the U.N. and Arab systems have also held the resistance responsible for what is happening and they acquitted the enemy.

  • 25 July 2014, 18:01

Nasrallah: Israelis took advantage of the three settler boys' case - which has not been uncovered yet - and they accused resistance movements of it and considered it an excuse to wage a war.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:59

Nasrallah: We can fully understand what is happening in Gaza today because the same thing happened in the July 2006 war.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:58

Nasrallah: Our nation is today in its worst conditions but the main victim is Palestine and we should be careful regarding what to do or where to fight.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:56

Nasrallah: And Iraq has entered a dark tunnel under the name of Islam and Islamic Caliphate and Christians are experiencing forced migration, Sunnis are clashing with ISIL and do not have an option other that being slaughtered or joining IS, and Shiite are only faced with killings. As Muslims today and an Islamic movement it is among our duties to announce out condemnation to what Christians and Muslims are experiencing in Iraq.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:54

Nasrallah: Syria was and hopefully still is a solid wall in front of the Zionist project and has embraced the resistance and the Palestinian cause. We all know the size of the war imposed on it.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:52

Nasrallah: What we are experiencing today as a nation and as an Ummah is the most dangerous situation ever since the occupation of Palestine and it is because of the systematic destruction of countries, armies, people and societies.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:49

Nasrallah: Holding onto the Palestinian cause is one of the reasons for Syria's resilience and for the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:48

Nasrallah: Despite everything that is happening, and despite conspiracies and challenges, the Palestinian cause remained assertive in the region and in the world thanks to the Palestinian people. The war today is a proof of this.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:47

Nasrallah: People in the region have reached a state in which Palestine no longer means anything to them. This is perceived in Arab media. And even in Lebanon, there is an effort exerted to choose a Palestinian suicide bomber, to differentiate between Palestinians and other nationalities.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:45

Nasrallah: Isolating Palestinians psychologically, politically, and emotionally from the region's people is the most dangerous thing that has been committed is the past years. They pushed Palestinians into conflicts and confrontations or even enmities with neighboring countries.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:44

Nasrallah: While Gaza is being slaughtered, other priorities prevail in other Arab countries such as the issues of gas and of paying salaries. These are rightful demands but they wanted them to be the crucial cause.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:41

Nasrallah: It was not among the Zionists' considerations to return one meter of the Palestinian land to its owners, and therefore we consider that consensus over Jerusalem is absolute.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:40

Nasrallah: Zionists have worked for long years and are still working on eliminating the Palestinian cause, on considering that the Palestinian people no longer exist and and that Jerusalem has become meaningless to Muslims and Christians.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:38

Nasrallah: Quds Day is a motivation and a reminder of the central cause, so that the Jerusalem and Palestine remain in our hearts, minds, culture, work and in our priorities.

  • 25 July 2014, 17:37

Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah speaking at the annual celebration of Quds Day in Dahieh: We salute the souls of the July 2006 war martyrs, and we salute the resistance's fighters, the wounded and our people who continue to be resilient to preserve the resistance because it is our only hope.

It means Hamas just gave Israel to continue its killings and liquidation of any Palestinian aspiration for statehood (stupid Nasrallah). Another Divine victory.

Thumb wassupmanigga 25 July 2014, 18:42

Okay, I don´t see what he is doing for Palestine other than talking nonstop right now. Why don´t him and his militia go to Gaza and liberate it? The rhetoric doesn´t help much, I doubt Palestinians are watching him talk at the moment, they must all be running for shelter or starving, or dying.

Texas
I guess if you take away the wars, and the intifada they have grown up with and they are fed from the womb, what is left? maybe instead of building those tunnels they could build more infrastructure, or even these shelters we talk about. I understand their land has been taken away from them (or they sold part of it) but dwelling on the past and throwing stones wont get them anywhere. I understand the limits of being born and growing in such a precarious situation but all these wars also come with heroes, and those who are using it for self enrichment and no one is a saint, especially the militias who feed and exist because of drug traffic, money laundry, and mafia. Take the war away from them, what would they do? The south was liberated, or rather the Israelis left, and yet we still see Nasrallah talk, and this was 14 yrs ago. Never-ending.

Nasrallah talked with his usual rhetoric, that the resistance is "winning" despite the fact that 800 Palestinians have been killed. The resistance not accepting a ceasefire means, like Texas said, that its exiled leader in Qatar doesn't give a crap about his people. All he cares about is the siege being lifted, which isn't going to happen. "Syria is a solid wall in front of the Zionist project", yeah a solid wall of inaction, as it never retaliates against Israeli airstrikes.

Since when killing civilians and destroying infrastructure = winning a war?
If they put all Gaza buildings to ground and kill all it's children, and one extra rocket is fired from there after that -> that means Israel lost it's war... not achieving the war targets means loosing! That what you people can't understand!

Thumb nickjames 25 July 2014, 19:48

It's clear that the only "resistance" left is that of Hezbollah and Hamas, two terrorist organisations. All the nations around Israel, which are Egypt, Jordan, and Syria have made some kind of peace, truce or armistice. This has been in place for almost 40 years. Even the PLO accepted peace in 1993. The Arabs have moved on, that's what the "resistance" will never understand.

Missing phillipo 28 July 2014, 10:48

Thumb nickjames 25 July 2014, 20:12

Southern, how does Israel support al-Qaeda? Like I told you in the other article (in which you ignored me), Israel wants Bashar to stay in power. Then you say, "well how come they dropped airstrikes on them?" They did that because they were transferring weapons to Hezbollah. So if Israel wants Bashar to stay, why would they support al-Qaeda and ISIS, who are trying to overthrow him? They wouldn't support them, that's why.

Carcass, Lebanon was doing perfectly fine when Maronites were leading this country. Then the Palestinians thought they were Lebanese and because they were Muslim they thought Muslims should gain more representation. The Palestinians destroyed Lebanon. It was the PLO who was doing all the fighting on behalf of the Sunnis, there were no effective Lebanese Sunni militias. Palestinians aren't Lebanese they have no say in our government.

Thumb nickjames 26 July 2014, 01:50

Carcass, yes they can build shelters. Since they're building underground tunnels, in which they store thousands of rockets, they can build shelters that fit thousands of people. Why are you still defending these radicals? This has nothing to do with Israel caring about Palestinians. Of course Israel doesn't care about them. Israel is punishing Hamas and breaking their will to fight.

Thumb nickjames 26 July 2014, 01:54
