Efforts are underway in order to show solidarity among the Lebanese media towards the Christians in the Iraqi city of Mosul in light of their persecution by the jihadist Islamic State, reported al-Mustaqbal daily on Thursday.

General Manager of Future television Ramzi Jubaili told the daily that invitations have been distributed to hold a meeting at 3:00 p.m. on Monday to discuss ideas over how to “demonstrate our rejection of the extremism in Mosul.”

He added that head of the Mustaqbal Movement MP Saad Hariri was behind the idea of the show of solidarity.

Monday's meeting will be held at Future television's headquarters in the Spears neighborhood in Beirut.

Jubaili revealed that he received preliminary agreements from all media outlets to attend the meeting, hailing their positive attitude.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc held talks on Wednesday with Chaldean Bishop Michel Qasserji and Syriac Orthodox Bishop Daniel Kourieh to condemn the persecution of Christians in Iraq.

On July 21, eight local television networks overcame their political differences and aired a unified evening newscast in solidarity with the war-battered Palestinian Gaza Strip.

The newscast included eight reports, each prepared by one TV channel that shed the light on different aspects of the Palestinian people's suffering.

Hundreds of Christians have fled Mosul following an ultimatum from the IS, which is spearheading a militant offensive in vast areas of northern and western Iraq.

Prayers and Demonstration are not enough to confront DA3SH / ISIS. Ironically, Mr Saad HARIRI supports ISIS in their fight against the Regimes of Syria and Iraq.
Hard choice, but true the Sunnah

after iraqi army fleed mosul and kirkuk in pyjamas, they left huge stockpiles of weapons. Part went to peshmergas, rest went to black market. AKs and RPGs are now less than $200 so few millions sent would help these poor christians protect their families and their churches. They could cooperate with kurds the same way sutoros do in hasakah.
