Hizbullah Eliminates ISIL Emir behind Explosive-Rigged Vehicles in Lebanon

An emir of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in the Syrian Qalamun was killed in an attack initiated by Hizbullah and the Syrian regime forces.

According to al-Akhbar newspaper published on Tuesday, Abou Abdullah al-Iraqi is reportedly responsible for training suicide bombers and preparing booby-trapped vehicles used in attacking several Lebanese areas.

Hizbullah has been engaged since weeks in heavy fighting with gunmen positioned between Arsal and the Syrian region of Qalamun.

Tensions skyrocketed in the area earlier this year with a major influx of refugees and fighters after Syrian forces backed by Hizbullah recaptured most of Qalamun.

Despite the Syrian regime's advances, pockets of opposition forces, including jihadists from al-Nusra and the ISIL, remain in the area.

Al-Akhbar reported that al-Iraqi had fled the Syrian Yabrud last March after Hizbullah and the Syrian regime forces seized control of the area.

However, the daily said that Hizbullah continued to pursuit al-Iraqi.

The report pointed out that al-Iraqi “personally supervised the process of buying vehicles from Lebanon and rigging them with explosives in al-Qalmoun, only to send them again to Lebanon to use them in attacks.”

The newspaper added that Hizbullah also attacked a villa in Qalamun that was being used as a venue to prepare the booby-trapped vehicles.

Later, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the news.

He "was one of the officials in the Islamic State in charge of preparing suicide attacks", the group said.

"He was killed by a roadside bomb planted by Hizbullah that detonated as his vehicle passed by," the NGO added, saying three other jihadists were also killed in the blast.

In March, the Syrian army and Hizbullah seized full control of the rebel bastion Yabrud, dealing the opposition a heavy symbolic and strategic blow in the Qalamun region adjoining the Lebanese border.

Hizbullah's involvement in Syria has prompted retaliatory bomb and rocket attacks by extremist groups against areas in Lebanon sympathetic to the movement. The attacks have mostly killed civilians.

Hizbullah and Lebanese security forces have said many of the car bombs used in those attacks originated in Yabrud.

lol you bunch of gutless cowards. that guy was behind several bombings inside lebanon, and killed many lebanese people.

your logic is to cower and shine his shoes, so he doesnt get mad at you? in that case i suggest you send your wife and kids for them to butcher, marry, or marry and butcher. maybe they'll be happy and spare you.

others have taken another path however, and thanks to them this one wont be planting bombs anymore :)
those who want to "follow" him, a7la w sa7la, they have a cozy place waiting in hell.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 19 August 2014, 16:00

momo- Bashar was behind several bombings inside Lebanon and killed many Lebanese people. By your own definition, you are a gutless coward for defending him!!!!!!

Thumb _mowaten_ 19 August 2014, 16:09

hopelessdude: i dont believe he was, to me those m14 propaganda claims would need at least a shred of proof before being worth listening to.

but if you really believe it, then go and fight him. a7la w sa7la.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 19 August 2014, 16:15

For LEGAL PURPOSES i duly ask Naharnet not to display anymore posts that support terrorist organisation. We do know that few idiots do support hizbullah that has nothing to do with our Culture, History and Human Dignity...please proceed quickly. Thank you

he was arrested after having transported explosives. and there are lots of fishy aspects to this story, including the agent who convinced him to transport those explosives, set him up, and was protected by the ISF which helped him disappear.
if they have all the proof they claim to have, i wonder why the trial hasent started.

in any case, you failed to substantiate your original claim:
"Bashar was behind several bombings inside Lebanon and killed many Lebanese people"
There was no bombing in samaha's case, and even less "many" dead lebanese people.

why fight terrorists and risk the lives of good human beings? let the terrorists kill each other. the best war a nation can have is when its two enemies fight each other while it sits on the sidelines and watches. heck, it would be smart if it split in two and each side encouraged the other. Enjoy the show my friend.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 19 August 2014, 17:12

yousif- what you stated is true. unfortunately, reality is it happens every single minute of every single day and we lived the other side of it.

Thumb geha 19 August 2014, 16:34

As long as all enemies of Lebanon are killing each other outside Lebanon, then fine with me and good riddance.
if they decide to bring the fight here, then we should fight them both.
all extremists are the same, whether shia, sunni or whatever. an extremist is an extremist, and all they deserve is death.

Here goes Roar defending Hezbollah once again. First of all, "HA are already with the LAF...They both work together & safeguard Lebanon" is a total lie. There is no coordination between the two as proved by this. http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/139563 this is reported by al-Joumhouria not Naharnet.

Hezbollah is no different than al-Qaeda or ISIS or any other terrorist organisation. What's the title of this article, Roar? I'll give you a hint: it includes the words "eliminates" and "explosives-rigged vehicles." That doesn't sound like something the army does, but it sure sounds like something Hezbollah does. Remember all the politicians who got blown up? Remember the US Marine barracks bombing, where 240 Marines and some 60 French servicemen got blown up in their sleep? And the US Embassy bombing? Say what you want about the Western interference in Lebanon, but those who are sleeping are non-combatants.
