Since its creation, BEIRUT ART FAIR gives great importance on the quality of the cultural program offered during the event. For the first time since its launch, the organizers, Laure d’Hauteville and Pascal Odille, are giving the opportunity to the public to create art pieces while they are introduced to the art of engraving.

Based on an idea by Fadi Mogabgab, who has been, for many years, presenting and digging for talents by accompanying young artists, BEIRUT ART FAIR, with the support of BankMed, presents an engraving workshop set up between the aisles of BIEL.

The Lebanese gallery owner presents Zaarura Edition, the first engraving publishing house in Lebanon. This workshop is the first of its kind in Lebanon and it invites all artists to discover the different engraving techniques: dry point, aquatint, etching, Carbortundum, etc.

His interest in engraving began in Paris where he had the chance to observe this technique in a workshop: « Engraving is a tribute to painting. I love painting, I love the paper, which draws me very close to this art we call engraving. I also love the creative process and I believe that we should be able to see the intermediary stages and the evolution next to the final product. Engraving makes this possible », he explains.

Located at the heart of the Lebanese mountains, the workshop is part of Alia’s Residence for Artists.

With Zaarura Edition, Fadi Mogabgab aims to promote artists by granting the public access to a large number of limited edition works.

This initiative is supported by BankMed who is committed to sharing its passion for art and making it accessible to all.
