Gunmen Kidnap Syrian Man in Baalbek, Demand Ransom

Three gunmen kidnapped on Wednesday a Syrian man in front of Dar al-Amal hospital in the Bekaa city of Baalbek.

According to the National News Agency, “three gunmen traveling in a gray Grand Cherokee kidnapped Syrian national Asaad Saleh Amin from his 'Cherokee 2006' car in front of Dar al-Amal hospital in Baalbek.”

“The gunmen fled to an unknown destination, and demanded a ransom worth 200,000 dollars in exchange for his release,” NNA added.

On August 30, a Kuwaiti national was also abducted in Baalbek.

The abductors reportedly demanded one million dollars in exchange for his release.34

Baalbek has witnessed a series of kidnappings for ransom and car robbery over the past year, targeting Lebanese nationals and foreigners as well.
