Damascus Says Turkish Intervention in Syria would be 'Aggression'

The Syrian government said Friday any Turkish military intervention on its soil would be considered an act of aggression, and urged the U.N. Security Council to prevent any such action by Ankara.
A day after Turkey's parliament authorized military action against the Islamic State (IS) group in Syria and Iraq, the foreign ministry said the "declared policy of the Turkish government represents a real aggression against a member state of the United Nations."
It is a "flagrant violation of the United Nations charter, which stipulates respect for the national sovereignty of states and non-interference in their domestic affairs," the statement added.
"The international community and, in particular, the Security Council, should act to put an end to the adventures of the Turkish leadership, which represents a threat to world security and peace."
IS fighters are pressing to capture the Kurdish town of Kobane, on Syria's border with Turkey, and at least 186,000 people from there and surrounding villages have already fled across the frontier.
While Thursday's measure did not spell out what action Turkey will take against the IS organization, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said after the vote "we will do whatever we can so that Kobane does not fall."

@FT : Double standards is you praising Syrian aggressions on Lebanese soil and rejecting turkish or any other foreign aggression on Syrian soil. That also makes you a traitor. Even Hezbollah's involvement in Syria is an act of foreign aggression and the syrian government accepting this is an act of treason to the Syrian people just as you are a traitor to the Lebanese people !

It is ok for assad to employ the services of terrorist organizations like hezbollah, Iraqi shia militia, Iranian revolutionary guards, shia afghanis, etc. But when the opposition gets fighters from abroad they are referred to as "mercenaries and terrorists" and when a country like Turkey joins the fight against ISIL, it is called aggression. Where is the Logic! but who ever said Assad and his allies have any logic.

Every Syrian paid mouthpiece and QawmiBigJohn are all of a sudden up in arms talking about UN charters, national sovereignty, national borders etc, while they spent the best part of three years in unison defending Syrian army shelling of Lebanese border towns. Of course thirty years of Syrian control and occupation laid the grounds for so many future professional Naharnet M8 posters to spring to it's defense and QawmiBigJohn who for some odd reason never has anything to say when it comes to Lebanese internal issues, he just pops in when the Syrian regime need defending I wonder why..

Flamer, what has been disproved? You really think Assad hasn't bought oil from ISIS? Assad was pretending to be against the airstrikes, but he's for them simply because he wants to reclaim the oil fields, knowing that the US won't deploy troops and they have no real plan to arm rebels.
