"One of the attackers, Mahmoud al-Manaa, was injured during the fire exchange and was transported to a near by hospital,” the statement added.

The other man was able to escape to an unknown place, where he is chased by the army in order to arrest him.

The statement also explained that the shootout started after “a patrol by the Directorate of Intelligence arrested Bahjat Metlej, for being involved in shooting at army positions, including the shooting of soldier Mohammed Hussein on September 23 in al-Badawi, which led to his death.”

The army also seized four hand grenades.

Why take the attacker to hospital? What a waste of funds.
