Nusra Front Warns: Government Taking Country into Abyss

Al-Nusra Front warned on Saturday that the case of abducted soldiers and policemen became a political tool that the government is using to take the Lebanese people into the abyss.

“The Lebanese cabinet is exploiting the case and will lead the country into the abyss,” al-Nusra Front said via it's account on Twitter.

The troops and policemen were kidnapped by militants from al-Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State group when they overran the northeastern border town of Arsal in August and engaged in bloody clashes with the army.

Their capture and the failure of the Lebanese authorities to secure their release sparked protests across Lebanon. Three of the captives have been executed in August and September.

The kidnappers have several demands to release the captives. One of them is the freedom of Islamist inmates in Roumieh prison.

Al-Nusra Front criticized that “anyone who opposes Hizbullah's policies in the region becomes directly a terrorist.”

“Even if those who oppose Hizbullah have political or religious immunity their region becomes a place that harbors terrorists.”

Hizbullah has sent fighters to Syria to back President Bashar Assad's forces against rebels trying to remove him from power. The armed intervention in Syria earned the Shiite group the enmity of Syria's predominantly Sunni rebels. Assad is a member of the Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam.

And we warn Al Nusra, ISIL and all the other pig terrorists, Lebanon is NOT Syria, Lebanon is NOT Iraq. We Lebanese do not chicken out, and we Lebanese will be more than thrilled to start cutting your bloody heads off and hang them by our shops as trophies. Ask those who did it before, ask them how eager they'll want to make it happen again.

To Nusra, anything that isn't a useless desert is an "abyss".
