A Lebanese man was injured on Tuesday after soldiers opened fire on him for failing to stop at a checkpoint in the northern district of Akkar, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said the Khaled Mkahhal was on his motorcycle when the soldiers manning the checkpoint on Mashta Hassan-Mashta Hammoud road ordered him to stop.

But the troops opened fire on him when he did not heed their request.

He was taken to a hospital in Qobayat for the treatment of his gunshot wounds, the agency added.

In another security related incident, NNA said that the army arrested three suspected Syrian terrorists in the eastern Bekaa Valley.

The Syrians were apprehended at a military checkpoint on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities, NNA added without elaborating.

This is how it should have been from day one: When the army orders you to stop, you'd better stop, and if you don't stop, too bad for you. By the way, during the days of the Syrian occupation, did one single person in Lebanon, be he Lebanese or Syrian or whatever dare not to heed the orders of the occupiers? I remember them days after 1992 when people nearing a Syrian checkpoint, to slow down markedly and arrive to a dead-stop before the checkpoint, everyone knew the consequences of not stopping. I am truly happy our army is now being perfectly firm, the only language the terrorists understand. Our army's boots on their necks all of them.

Well @Sab3a, from now on, anyone who sees a Lebanese Army checkpoint will know that those manning it mean business, serious business. The blood of our martyrs will not go in vain. The writing on the wall is written with their precious blood, let everyone respect our army, everyone.
