Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem has met with March 8 officials at the Syrian embassy in Yarze, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The daily said the meeting was held over dinner on Tuesday night.

Syrian Ambassador Ali Abdulkarim Ali has previously organized such meetings given that Lebanon has become an itinerary for Syrian officials traveling abroad.

Muallem's deputy Faisal al-Meqdad and Syrian President Bashar Assad's advisor Buthaina Shaaban in addition to other top officials attended the meeting before traveling to Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin, said al-Akhbar.

The newspaper published a list of invitees from the March 8 alliance. It included the names of Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's aide, Hussein Khalil, Hizbullah MP Mohammed Raad, Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, who is Speaker Nabih Berri's aide, Marada movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh, Minister Elias Bou Saab as a representative of Free Patriotic Movement chief MP Michel Aoun and other officials.

The Syrian and Lebanese officials discussed several issues, including the presidential deadlock and an electoral draft-law, said al-Akhbar.

The Syrian state-run News Agency, SANA, said last week that the situation in Syria will be high on the agenda of the talks between the Syrian delegation and Russian officials in Moscow.

Real enemy is the west/saudi and Israel, but ofcourse we have most of the western side, here on Naharnet.

NO and one million NO. Syria and Iran are No 1 enemy, then Israel and whoever you want...
Syria has destroyed our people and economy and doesn't recognize Lebanon as an independent country...the Awmiyeh still hail Syria by saying " Ta7ya Suria". Iran is an enemy because it wants to create an Islamic Republic...a beautiful and most "modern bearded civilization".

your patriotism goes to Syria and Iran. Mine goes to Lebanon andto Lebanon only.
my feeling is that you are working for a partition. I can tell you : over my dead body. I want a Lebanon open to all, respectful, convivial , and democratic. Exactly the opposite of your beloved Syria and Iran.

8ball, can't argue much with you, except to remind that a traitor is a citizen that works against his nation and country. That by definition describes without any doubt those that collaborated with the Syrian occupiers, those who still support them and worse of all, against their own people of Lebanon. It may sound painful, but this does pertain to more people than we may want to admit. Syria and Israel to me are the same, neighbors that have never wanted to see a strong, peaceful, prosperous and viable Lebanon, but LO, I say it again, LO, wou bi doun shameti, look at what the Almighty is doing to them now. We are indeed a small country, but we have divine mercy on us.

8ball you will be considered a traitor by these LF boys for saying such words, you see all these Israeli zion lovers in here.

Lol again Mystic, a traitor is by definition a person who works against his own country. Syria was and still is an occupier of my land, so if anyone still works with Syria against my country Lebanon, sure of course he will be seen as a traitor. The who better than Hezbollah to be the watchman of the fence between us and Israel. There was a time when any Israeli soldier asked which was the best place to be sent on duty, the Golan Heights was the answer, nowadays it's Northern Israel with our Southern border, thanks to whom Sir? Then any Israeli soldier is bound to consider the Added Value benefits of doing time by the Blue Line. It's not only buying cheap Lebanese Arak you know? Nor of Marlboro cigies, it's a lot more trust me.

Mystic, at times you embarrass us with such superlative posts. Masalan, before the year 2005, I could go all over Lebanon and say it loud, HEZBOLLAH!! I can also put up the picture of Sayed Hassan and I will get everyone's sympathy and respect. But after 2005, a very high proportion of Lebanon is now truly dangerous for any such behavior. Today more than ever, Hezbollah, Iran and the Syrian regime are seen as real and ever present enemies, therefore it makes one wonder what the heck you're talking about. All I know is this: The projection of your mind in public keeps proving that you don't evaluate well your posts before going so public. Just a small nudge from a well-meaning person.

ofcourse it wonders you. You my friend wants an americanized western Lebanon, bowing down to zionism. The rest of us do not understand that, the region is burning, and you think we can isolate Lebanon from it all. We are surrounded by Syria, and sooner or later the takfiris would invade, had Hezbollah not intervened.

Lol Mystic, I guess everyone sees the cake from his side. In any case if you read another thread, I wrote at length about us uniting and to start thinking as Lebanese and nothing else. Thanks for a good input.
