Deputy head of Hizbullah's Executive Council Sheikh Nabil Qaouq praised on Tuesday the security forces' success in dismantling what he called the “takfiri emirate” in Roumieh prison, stressing that the takfiris failed to reach their objectives from the Jabal Mohsen blasts.

"The security operation that took place yesterday in Roumieh prison to dismantle the 'takfiri emirate' is a victory for the whole nation and a heavy blow for the takfiri terrorist hotspots,” Qaouq said during an educational ceremony at al-Mahdi school in Tyre.

On Monday, security forces took full control of Roumieh prison's block B after storming the overcrowded facility and seizing illegal items from Islamist prisoners.

Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq said authorities managed to put an end to the so-called “terrorist operations room” in Roumieh, noting that it had played a role in “coordinating” the deadly Jabal Mohsen twin bombing.

The clearing of block B came after years of warnings that the overcrowded section was a meeting point for militants to plot attacks.

Qaouq stated that “this operation reconfirmed that all of Lebanon is standing in the face of the takfiris' terrorism, and that it is able to defeat them wherever they were.”

Meanwhile, he noted that “when the criminal takfiri terrorists blew themselves up in Jabal Mohsen, their objective was to fuel discord but they failed to reach that due to the awareness and wisdom of our people there, who turned the tragedy into a chance to immunize national unity.”

Two suicide bombers blew themselves up on Saturday inside a cafe in Jabal Mohsen, which left 9 dead and 37 injured.

Qaouq also explained that the “battle with the takfiris does not spare anyone, whether they are the kidnapped servicemen or our villages in the Bekaa and not even our people in Arsal.”

He also stressed the “importance of identifying the enemy clearly and accurately by everyone, because Daesh (Islamic State) and al-Nusra (Front) are two faces of the same terrorism.”

"They are in dispute over the emirate but they both agree on kidnapping the servicemen, harming Lebanon and putting all the Lebanese under aggression,” he added.
