A Lebanese soldier suffered bruises on Thursday after his car came under fire in the northern Akkar district from the Syrian side of the border, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said Y.W. was on the main road of Hakr Janine-Abboudieh when his car was shot at from Syrian territories.

His vehicle then veered off the road and hit a wall, it said.

The soldier was taken to a hospital in the region after the crash left him bruised, the agency added.

Well done to the LAF & HA who continue to secure Lebanon's borders from the threat sweeping the ME.
