Lieberman Says Third Lebanon War is Inevitable

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has said that a third war with Lebanon has become inevitable, stressing that Hizbullah's latest attack on the Jewish State has changed the rules of the game.

"A fourth operation in the Gaza Strip is inevitable, just as a third Lebanon war is inevitable," Lieberman told Ynet, the website of the Israeli daily Yedioth Aharonoth, on Sunday.

"There's no doubt the rules of the game have been changed, what Hizbullah forced upon us. We don't respond, but rather decide to contain this incident. I think that's completely unreasonable,” he said.

“Hizbullah is bolder, more determined, more provocative. This is a precedent that everyone's following, they're following our response or lack thereof," he added.

Israel and Hizbullah engaged last Wednesday in the deadliest clashes on the disputed frontier since the 2006 war between them.

The violence erupted when Hizbullah fired a salvo of anti-tank missiles at an Israeli military convoy, killing two soldiers and wounding seven.

Israel responded with shelling. A Spanish peacekeeper with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon was killed in the exchange.

Lieberman said after the attack that Israel should respond to the attack "in a very harsh and disproportionate manner.”

I have written this for a very long time, yet it has to be the israeli commander that confirms it.

old news, this rant by lieberman brings nothing new. and this is why HA must continue to arm itself.

Thumb Elemental 02 February 2015, 18:37

HA is no better, occupying land that's not theirs...shame on both of you.

Thumb Mystic 02 February 2015, 19:34

Look at it this way texas, without us to critisize your western/zionist masters, then you all would be discussing among yourselves in a boring atmosphere of agreements.

Thumb Mystic 02 February 2015, 07:48

The violence erupted when you zionists attacked resistance fighters in Golan, stop acting like victims for once. Holocaust yeah right.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 08:03

Looooool Mystic you have no shame posting on this forum. How come you (and Flamey) never responded to me on your "SSNP has fighters who have been eager to fight LF" article???

Of course you're gonna say you don't have time to respond to nonsense, and that's okay. Everyone loses arguments, I've been there myself. Losing arguments and learning the reality of politics made me wiser. It's time you stop blindly following leaders just because you're a certain sect or your family voted for a certain party. Use your head Mystic, and come to the realisation that all these politicians have betrayed Lebanon at some point in time.

Thumb Mystic 02 February 2015, 08:22

Didn't you get enough attention, when you were a child? Last conversation you began uttering about action movies, which had nothing to do with the arguememt. You and texas, endless talkers.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 08:27

No Mystic, I didn't get enough attention as a child. And my point was very relevant. Just because someone loots an office doesn't make him a fighter. He's a criminal, whether it's a robber, a gangster, or a terrorist.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 16:24

Flamey, you posted "a response"? Funny thing is there were two chains of messages to respond, to neither of which you responded, and I know this because I refreshed my page every hour. You will not speak against the LF because you believe in reconciliation?? Not speaking against someone is only part of reconciliation, the other part is admitting your side also has a history of wrongs (to which of course you will never admit).

Flamethrower, I may have indeed become a no-life on this site, but at least I admit my faults, unlike you, who lives in complete denial and accuses other people for being something you are (a no-life). And you're the worst no-lifer on this site. Your posts are disgusting and poisonous, your words are painful to our eyes. You never have anything to say other than hailing the traitor Michel Aoun as the protector of Christians and the terrorist Hezbollah as protectors of Lebanon. You've been on this site much longer than I have, yet you still believe that Hezbollah will "liberate" Shebaa Farms, goes to show not just how naive you are, but how flat-out vegetated your brain is.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 08:09

Hezbollah, Mustaqbal, FPM, LF, PSP and Kataeb have all betrayed the Lebanese people. And if you keep living in denial and say the Resistance is the protector of Lebanon, you're really just a waste of life who's stealing oxygen from other Lebanese

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 08:15

My advice to you comes from my heart, from Lebanese to Lebanese. And if you cannot accept that the people you support ever did something wrong, then you can't call yourself Lebanese. Everyone screwed up, whether it was 1978, 1983, 1990, 2005, and so on. You wanna keep living in denial amd supporting your party, go ahead it's your right to free speech. But at least express it in an intellectual way, and stop spreading Islamic terrorist propaganda. That's all I ask of you.

(1). I know this for sure, that there will be some who will profoundly dislike what I am about to write: that it is Israel that created both Hamas and Hezbollah in the early 90s. I was in the UK around 1982 when I was having a heated argument with a British Jew and this is what he told me and I quote: "We the Israelis created Hezbollah and Hamas. For as long as they exist, both Lebanon and Palestine will never know any peace nor aspire to any future, for as long as they exist, both Lebanese and Palestinians will remain divided", unquote. Now decades down the line, what do we have on both sides, a Gaza that never finds any peace, and is divided with the mainland Palestine, thus, a divided country and one that cannot focus on bringing Israel to a diplomatic task and solution translating from what could be a truly dynamic country to a truly destitute and frustrated one.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:49

FT, so predictable, now let's see the rest of the yellow and orange brigades reactions. No need to be so hostile, from now on a certain truth will derange even the hardiest of you. With all my respects to you all.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 14:43

(2) To FT. FT, you know so very little of me and me the same of you, we're just here as part of a forum, the secret however lies in keeping a certain decorum. I am playing my part, thus I am keeping my shield free of blemish in spite of the sabers that hit on it, you sadly are peeling off bit by bit that crucial element needed to be heard, it's called staying away from the crowd. salam.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 14:44

(1) To FT, rest assured that I take no offence when people like you start moving out of the ethical world into the uncouth one. As you know, one's medication is another's poison as is said of course. You see, this world is one where people have different views and by that we cannot expect to please everyone but it would be fair to say that at least we are still free to voice our views, which I believe will be shared by many. You said flawed rant, but if you took time to read, you'd notice that I only used my heated argument with the Jew as part of my views, the rest was built on my views, and facts that I happen to know of.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 14:46

Hey Al Finique thanks man, that's very sweet of you.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 14:48

FT to respond to you, Egypt and Jordan have a peace treaty each with Israel, have they any problems with those you called Zionists? I rest my case.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 15:07

FT, who is to say that Egypt and Jordan were forced into the peace treaties? Anwar El Sadat himself surprised the Israelis when he flew literally unannounced to Israel. Did he not ask the people of Egypt if after wars they preferred or not peace? And what about Jordan, how could it be forced? Wasn't it and Egypt isolated by the Arabs for years only to see the Arabs themselves go for diplomatic recognition? Wlak ya habibi, even the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (IRM) has diplomatic ties with Israel, was it too forced? Wars come when we provoke Israel, not just by chance, and thank you, you just jumped into my plate to strengthen my assertions that HA was created by Israel, for a good reason no? I think we Lebanese have a monumental fool called Amin Gemayel, he could have signed that peace, but Mr. 10% prefers cash instead of checks.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:23

(2). Now over to Lebanon, THE country of dynamism, THE country of economic miracles ... or rather, the country in abeyance of dynamism and miracles,... that is until Hezbollah and Israel decide to leave us in peace so that we too can focus on our future. Here we have two countries, two societies that if left in peace could spring to 7th cloud and become economic prodigies of the Middle East. Palestine as we have come to know, is a pluralistic society, rarely driven by any form of sectarian radicalism and this despite all the challenges thrown at it, Palestine remains a tolerant society. Now to Lebanon, a nation of educated people and born entrepreneurs, but because Hezbollah keeps taking us from one war to the other, Lebanon is losing it to other Middle East countries in terms of capital investment, so what could have been the economical hub of the region, is rapidly moving away to countries like the UAE and Qatar, wow!!!

(3). Palestine was tipped to be the next manufacturing base or Hong Kong with an educated workforce both white-collar and blue collar, but all reduced to fleeing from a zone that holds no hope for its people. So both Palestine and Lebanon, for as long as they have a disease called Hamas and Hezbollah, they could never hope to plan for a decent future, never. The moment they do, Hamas on the one hand will bring about the dreaded war with Israel which will reduce the country to dust, then back to reconstruction with Iranian cash and again war thereafter with cheap Iranian weapons. The very same scenario is happening in Lebanon too, it's a recurrent cycle if anyone looks well into the matter, no sooner do we lift our heads a little, would this evil militia called Hezbollah create a war with their darlings Israel, and back again to reconstruct with Iranian cash hence and so forth

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 17:29

Exactly. Hezbollah and Hamas are impediments to their respective countries' future.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:34

(4). Who does all this profit ultimately but Israel? We often hear some strange people come up with this defense strategy or the balance of deterrence,.. I mean it takes a real zombie to believe any of that, Israel is getting stronger by the day and no one could even dent its armor, let alone free Jerusalem, wlak not even Metullah. Hezbollah will do everything to destroy Lebanon, from delaying the presidential elections, to naming a jerk known as Aoun, to checking which artist's plane has Israeli-made parts and God knows what in the name of what? Hezbollah is now in Syria since 4 years, what the heck has it done but hold on to a few miserable swath of land, so little to justify why hundreds of young men are perishing in a war that is not ours in the first place. Hezbollah has now turned from resistance to an army for rent, or better known as mercenaries, fighting mini wars here and there.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 17:29

They're holding on to Brital, at least give them credit for that...

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:39

(5). The same can be said of Hamas. Lebanon is today a miraculous country, with an emerging army now more than capable of fending for itself, but then, what about that long shadow of another impending war? Who can disarm Hezbollah, can we? We've tried to hold dialogs with Hezbollah, year after year, it's always the same scenario, just moving from one pretexts to the other, but all intended to keep Hezbollah around our necks. Now what would happen if another would break with Israel, would we as a nation survive it? Or would Israel simply make it look like a war only to strengthen Hezbollah further till giving Lebanon to Hezbollah's full control? In this case would those forces in Lebanon that oppose the will and hegemony of Hezbollah accept it or would they unite and fight Hezbollah? h?!

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:43

(6). Bingo, then here we are with Civil War number 3, this time bringing to alliance one side of Lebanon against Hezbollah and its stooges, and voila, Lebanon gone for another 15 to 20 years round of war. Bravo Israel, but hey, where's Hezbollah?! This will be the time when the destruct button on Hezbollah would be pressed by Israel this time by engaging it in war with its Lebanese siblings. I go back to 1982 and the heated debate with that British Jew, now I understand fully well why they created for us and the Palestinians these two bacterias called Hamas and Hezbollah, two nations that sadly will never see the light of viable nations and societies, all the while whilst their Israeli creator enjoys the life and aided by the hypocrites of all hypocrites, Iran, a nation that cares less for Arabs, only looking at how to build cheap nukes to be used NOT on Israel, but on the Arabs.

Thumb -phoenix1 02 February 2015, 13:48

(7). Finally, Sayed Hassan can appear as many times on TV and tell us more whitewashed lies and fabrications, but it will pay off if and when people begin to wake up to a plan that is not what Sayed Hassan is telling us. It will help as a first step in this waking up process, if the Christians of Lebanon who are still duped by the deserter king Aoun, to start thinking of their options and move away from the Hezbollah grip, HA is only using them as rubber stampers and facilitators, and nothing more. The security of Lebanon can only come from strengthening Lebanon's constitutional institutions, first in line its LAF, only by doing so could we finally become real and respectable members of civilized world societies.

Thumb cityboy 02 February 2015, 17:48

Phoenix, you continue to contradict yourself, you seem to paint a very gloomy picture of lebanon and blame it all on HA, the disease as you refer to them. If you are going to blame HA for everything wrong in Lebanon, then will you give them credit for what is right then. Lebanon, despite having no peace treaty with Israel enjoys an educated population, income levels that are much higher than a decade ago, a strong army, a booming construction industry and tourist industry that remains relatively strong, (would be stronger if prices were more affordable to foreigners) and most importantly a free society. I think most people would still prefer to live in Lebanon as opposed to living in Jordan or Egypt despite their phony peace treaties with Israel.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 17:59

(cont'd)
Their goal is very clear: to take over Lebanon. You really think Hezbollah only held on to their weapons because they needed to liberate Shebaa??? It is Syrian territory, but say Hezbollah "liberated" it, then what, they just hand over their weapons and sing kumbaya?? Lol no, they come up with more farces to keep their weapons (takfiri) then before long it will be to eradicate Rifi's Internal Salafi Forces, then it will be to eliminate the Ouwwet Isra2ili, and the reasons go on and on.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 17:59

Dahyeboy, he is not painting anything, that's the reality. And right now, Hezbollah is to blame for it. Hezbollah's goal has been to take over Lebanon square metre by square metre. They assassinate politicians, play a game of chess with Israel (the fake Hareb Tammouz), then they take over West Beirut and demand a blocking-third when they lost the elections fair and square, then they assassinate the head of intelligence after he arrested the terrorist Samaha, then they blow up some more politicians, then they go to Syria and bring terrorists back with them - giving them another reason to hold on to their weapons, in addition to the Shebaa farce (more on that shortly) - then they slander the president, then they boycott the elections.

Thumb cityboy 02 February 2015, 18:12

oh really nickyjamie, why not just come out and say HA did 911 too. Why would HA want to take over Lebanon, you think HA would be foolish enough to want to manage the affairs of Lebanon with all its sects. That would be a headache desired by only fools. The accusations you lay on HA are simply propoganda that get repeated on this board over and over, try something different. The reality is Lebanon is doing pretty good despite everything in the region and the zionist entity next door that would like to control our affairs as a nation and state.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:22

Yeah okay City, my accusations are just propaganda, right. Just answer my question in the post below:

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:06

And answer this: Israel withdrew 15 years ago, why haven't Hezbollah liberated Shebaa??? You really believe they're waiting for "the right time." I'll break the news for you: the right time is NEVER. The liberation of Shebaa will effectively outlaw their weapons. Remember the argument over the cabinet statement, and how Hezbollah insisted they needed to include the right to resist and liberate the occupied land??? Liberating Shebaa is the last thing they wanna do, because everyone knows they're gonna keep their weapons "to fight the takfiri" and then all the Lebanese will unite against Hezbollah. Of course Hezbollah doesn't want that happening, so they act like they're trying to liberate Shebaa while they just kill a few Israeli soldiers every few years.

Thumb cityboy 02 February 2015, 18:25

why do you use terms like outlaw or argument. If you want to keep living in denial that is up to you. Lebanons defence policy is based on the army and the resistance party. Does it bother you that much, that you need to come on here and spend 7 days a week slamming the arrangement made between the government and HA. As for the shebaa farms, yes it will be liberated at some point, is it worth at this time to have a full scale war over it, probably not. But one day it will be liberated. It doesnt help that the United nations desputes whether the farms are part of syria or lebanon despite syrias repeated assertion that they belong to Lebanon.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:44

Lol you're so naive. Lebanon's policy is based on the army and resistance loooool Hezbollah imposed it on the government. Hezbollah said Sleiman's equations were wooden and he needed special care. So spare me, it is not the government's policy, it's Hezbollah's policy being imposed on the government. And yes, I do spend seven days a week slamming this arrangement. And no, Shebaa Farms will not be liberated, because 1) it's Syrian and 2) Bashar won't allow it to be demarcated so Shebaa will remain a flashpoint for Hezbo terrorist operations in Golan.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:46

Hafez al-Assad said about Shebaa Farms (this is a real quote): "Syria and Lebanon are one country." LAF maps even had Shebaa in Syria. And please tell me, when Israel took the Golan in 1967, why didn't the Lebanese government complain?? What about 1981?? Only in 2000, when Israel withdrew, Hezbollah complained, not the Lebanese government (Lahoud was chilling at Yarez country club all the time). But now after Hezbollah took over the government, now the government complains.

Thumb Elemental 03 February 2015, 00:56

Thumb nickjames 03 February 2015, 06:30

Le Shia Phoenician: You got a lot of nerve answering me like that. "because Israel never withdrew from Shebaa???? What you just expect them to lay down their arms for Hezbollah to take over. Do you know what "liberate" means??? Liberating something requires force, you retard.

Thumb cityboy 02 February 2015, 17:51

And by the way, HA was an off shoot of the Amal party. Largely supported and encouraged by Iran. Nothing to do with israeli creation.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:17

Amal was created by Lebanese, Moussa al-Sadr's may have been Iranian, but he was a moderate who promoted co-existence and was reluctant to get involved with the civil war. He was killed by Ghaddafi because he was a moderate.

And learn your history: in the 70s there was no Islamic Republic of Iran, the shah was a Western ally. That al-Sadr was Iranian has no relevance to the Khomeini Iran supporting Amal. Hezbollah is not "an offshoot" of Amal. Hezbollah is a bunch of Amal deserters and they fought against Amal in the civil war because Amal's views were "unacceptable" (Syria even helped Amal fight against Hezbollah).

How do you just write crap without even looking up your history. Do us a favour: get off this site and start reading things.

Thumb cityboy 02 February 2015, 18:31

You must be insane or something, what does the 70s have to do with islamic republic of iran or hezbollah. Hezbollah didnt come into being until early 80s. prior to that there was no HA. The clashes between HA and Amal happened later on once HA started to become more prominent. Believe me, i had relatives on both sides that were stupid enough to be fighting each other. Anyways, it is draining to keep debating every point you make.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:47

My fault, I read your post wrong. I thought you said Amal was encouraged by Iran. I concede to you, City.

Thumb nickjames 02 February 2015, 18:19
