The army continued on Tuesday the implementation of the security plan in the northern Bekaa region, carrying out a series of arrests during various raids.

It announced in a statement the arrest of nine Syrians for illegally entering Lebanon.

Two Lebanese were detained, one of whom is wanted for shooting offenses.

The army also confiscated around 50 kilograms of narcotics, impounded six vehicles for lacking proper legal papers, and seized a number of military equipment and light ammunition.

The state-approved security plan had kicked off on Thursday and dozens of wanted suspects have since been arrested.

A similar plan was adopted by the government in 2014 and implemented in Beirut and the northern city of Tripoli.
