Hizbullah, Iran Removed from U.S. Terror List

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Hizbullah and Iran are no longer enrolled on a U.S. list of terror threats, according to an annual report by the U.S. National Intelligence that was delivered to the Senate.

Hizbullah and Tehran, which comprise along with Syria and other organizations the “axis of resistance” that oppose Israel and Western policies in the Middle East, have exerted efforts to combat the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

The report, under the title the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Communities, was released on February 26, 2015 to the U.S. Senate by director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

The document cites Iran and Hizbullah's endeavors to battle Sunni extremists “who were perceived to constitute the preeminent terrorist threat to American interests worldwide.”

However, the Times of Israel newspaper said that the report expressed concern that “Iran’s actions to protect and empower Shia communities are fueling growing fears and sectarian responses.”

The Islamic State, which controls several areas in Syria and Iraq, aims to spread to Lebanon as its fighters position in the outskirts of Bekaa towns bordering Syria.

It has carried out numerous atrocities in areas it controls ranging from public beheadings to enslavement and rape.

A number of militants across the world have recently pledged their allegiance to the IS jihadists, and several attacks inspired by the group were carried out in the West.

The report comes as the United States, Britain, China, France, Russia and Germany aim by the end of this month to nail down the outline of a deal that would prevent Tehran from making a nuclear bomb.

The parties hope to reach a full accord by July 1.

I look at the photo I see revolutionary Iran (Mullahs, Khameini, Mahdi, Welayat ElFaqih) embodied in heart, Soul and dress code.
Then I read posts below and see how exuberant and Jubilant the followers of such culture are (F.T., Southern, Mystic, Mowaten, etc.).
Then I recall F.T post few weeks ago declaring HA arms are meant to curb Christian resurgence and privileged rights in Lebanon (I do believe him). I wonder how can we have so many human bots brainwashed into political submission? I fear for the Progressive and Sovereign Lebanon that once was.

My street hasn't been plowed and I can't get my car out through the snow. Hezbullah ministry of Public Works isn't answering its phone to tell me what the holdup is, or when I can expect the snow-plow to come by. Do you have an email address for hezbullah public works department? Thanks mowaten

FT, only yesterday M8 partisans were full of criticism for the US, this is is for you ya Mystic, you called me lots of acronyms linked to the US ma heyk? Today you guys are what, full of praise for Uncle Sam? This is it, no more labeling for us who lean on M14 ideology? The US is making its deal with Iran, sweeteners must be placed before the deal goes through, only yesterday more Hezbollah businesses abroad were axed, so I say ya jame3a, don't gloat as you usually do, this is truly childish. One look at the queues at the US embassy confirm only one thing, that most are from pro-Hezbollah than anyone else, yet I have to see any queue at the Iranian embassy, why is that?

Thumb Mystic 17 March 2015, 21:03

Phoenix, you are beginning to sparkle into a hysteria like your friend from texas. I will remain anti U.S until the day I die, nobody is praising them here.

I am praising the Resistance achievements, in proving to the Americans & the world that they could not be broken. The U.S is pulling out Phoenix, this is the result.

Fact is my friend Phoenix, your dreams of a Pro Western Lebanon is not going to be complete and the U.S just accepted it by bending down to the Resistance.

The USA is hypocritical when it claims it is fighting terrorism in principle. It fights terrorism that does not suit its global objectives and turns a blind eye to that which suits its objectives. The terrorism of hezbollah, the iranian shia militias, and their massacres in Iraq, Syria and Yemen is not seen as a threat to the USA and the so called free world.

Like Assange & Snowden should be branded terrorists.

What is their crime besides revealing the truth? did you watch how many people died in Iraq for nothing other than target practice?
or people tortured because it was fun?

yep you know all about the truth & whos the goody & whos the baddy.

There are no morals in international politics only power. It took 200,000 dead Syrians, thousands of dead Iraqis and tens of dead Lebanese to get to a potential US-Iranian deal.
It is what it is. It is time to move on and build our nation.
We are all Lebanese now and we need to unite. Politicians should stop insulting one another, creating sectarian tension and work to build institutions.
Our MPs should vote for General Michel Aoun as president, get a government where all parties are included and bring security and economic development to our country.

Thumb _mowaten_ 17 March 2015, 19:19

lol you're mentally disturbed man, it's getting worse by the day. You're so unable to accept the fact that not everybody shares your blindness and psychotic obsession, that you start suspecting everyone (paranoia?) who deviates from what you decided is the one and only truth.
Those accounts you mentioned are the original ones, the spellings are identical. If you're that obsessed and still paranoid then ask the site admins to check, write them an email, and we will see what they say.

Thumb Machia 17 March 2015, 20:49

It is still me Machia. I have not changed but Iran and the US changed. They have their own interests, let's do ours instead of getting offensive and aggressive.
It seems they have both changed for the better. Iran is progressing into a reasonable regional player and the US administration is clearly anti-Netanyahu.
In international politics, peace can only be achieved when there is a balance of power and when sovereigns act in their interests and not guided by ideology.
This balance of power is being restored in the region and Lebanon will align.
Hopefully, Netanyahu will be ousted as Israeli PM and the US and Iran sign the nuclear deal and slowly a peaceful and stable region will emerge.
We should stop the emotions and the hage and move on.

Thumb Machia 17 March 2015, 20:50

correction: We should stop the emotions and the hate and move on.

Default-user-icon James (Guest) 17 March 2015, 18:12

This is a misleading title, Hizballah is still on the list of terrorist organizations, however, in the intelligence briefing, the experts are saying that Iran and Hizballah no longer, at least until now, constitute a terror threat against the USA. Please don't use click bait titles and mislead your readers. It's amazing that none of the commenters paid attention, instead engaged in the usual mudslinging, a reflection of the state of Lebanese society and affairs.

Did he US also support Morsi, and now they are trying to make mends with el-Sisi?

Thumb _mowaten_ 17 March 2015, 19:26

Sisi is their man, the replacement of Mubarak.
They first tried to prevent Morsi from getting to power, but then pretended to play along when they saw Mubarak was gone, all while planning the next step (Sisi's coup d'etat)

Thumb _mowaten_ 17 March 2015, 19:27

Thumb -phoenix1 17 March 2015, 20:37

M8 partisans were full of poison over the US till just yesterday, today everyone can see the relief in their posts, that alone says a lot about their portrayed bravado and routine criticism of the US. But one must remember the Shah or Iran and Saddam Hussein who once were US friends, lest we mention Syria's Al Assad family. The nice thing is this: People like me are today are warning, never trust the US.

The Resistance stood strongly in the face of the Zionist/Salafists, and this is the reward.

Soon, Israel's only ally will be Saudia, Turkey and Qatar. The world has seen how they cooperate.
