The kidnappers of a Lebanese resident of the northeastern border town of Arsal have asked for a $200,000 ransom, his father claimed on Monday.

The state-run National News Agency quoted the father of Zaher Rayed as saying that he received a phone call from the abductors asking for the ransom.

Rayed had been missing since Saturday.

Abductions are common in Arsal. Militants from al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State group are hiding on the town's outskirts.

The IS abducted on Saturday night Syrian national Ahmed Ta'an Assi in Arsal.

Meanwhile, NNA said that the body of a Syrian boy, who went missing on Sunday, was found on the banks of the river in the town of al-Kuwaikhat in the northern Akkar district.

Police launched an investigation to know the cause of death of 14-year-old Walid Halloum, added the agency.

It was not clear if the teenager had been kidnapped and murdered.

I said it long ago, the army must level Aarsal from the map of Lebanon, there are times when some places should be removed and replaced, Arsal is now begging for such a treatment.

There are still tens of thousands of innocents in there phoenix, and the "LF method" is no longer currency here.

Mowaten, did you see me say with the inhabitants in there? Please ya man, don't condemn before reading intelligently, then I never saw you complain when the Syrians were pounding us with 240 MM guns or with their deadly grad 40? Carpet bombing is a Russian/Syrian thing, so if you please.

"the army must level Aarsal from the map of Lebanon" unless it was a poetic license, i think we all know what it means.

Mowaten, come now my friend, you wouldn't miss an opportunity to take a cheap jab at the LF would you? FYI, the LF never engaged in such act, so don't get fired up with a nothing. About Arsal, yes, I repeat, the army should have leveled it off the face of the map of Lebanon because this is a rat infested place, Mo, I am doing you guys a favor so cut the rope will you?! Poetry or other, you figure it out, you should understand that I meant well after its people are taken out of it, something Hezbollah never gave one chance to those poor unarmed Syrian civilians you attacked inside their own country. You got your paint and your brush, keep out of my wall if you know.
