A large blaze erupted on Saturday at Syrian encampments in the northern region of Akkar caused by an electrical wire friction, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said that more than ten tents were completely burned.

The encampment is located on the outskirts of Qobbet Shamra.

Residents worked on extinguishing the fire and evacuated the women, children and old people.

Lebanon currently hosts roughly 1.2 million Syrian refugees and has called for international aid to help.
