Aoun Describes Saudi Offensive against Yemen as 'Illegal'

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun deemed as “illegal” the military offensive led by Saudi Arabia against Yemen's Huthi rebels, reported As Safir newspaper on Wednesday.

The charters of the United Nations and Arab League prohibit the foreign intervention of one country in the affairs of the other, he remarked during Tuesday's weekly Change and Reform bloc meeting.

The Saudi war on Yemen is therefore illegal according to international law, explained the MP.

Furthermore, Aoun criticized the Arab “confusion” over Yemen, as well as the double standards adopted by some of these countries in addressing the developments in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.

He noted that based on his military experience, the airstrikes on Yemen will not yield results on the ground, citing Israel's war against Hizbullah in 2006 as an example of this.

Saudi Arabia launched last week airstrikes against Yemen's Huthi rebels in an attempt to restore the country's sovereignty.

An Arab League summit over the weekend endorsed the operation, saying that they will continue until legitimacy is restored in the country.

What bothers you most geha? The fact that he dares call a cat a cat, or the fact that he dares speak up against your brutal saudi masters?

The war on Yemen is by all standards illegal, it is a war of aggression only motivated by KSA's intention to dominate and control another sovereign nation.

Consider this for a second: what would have been your reaction if Iran had invaded Bahrein when they brutally and bloodily cracked down on the protesters?

Thumb EagleDawn 01 April 2015, 10:50

Maybe you need to interpret everything in sectarian terms eagleyawn, and maybe you only care when it's about your own (chosen?) people that is concerned, but not everybody is like you.
Maybe your sectarianism is why you abstained from condemning everything that happened in Maaloula, Kobbane, Mossul, Dahiyeh, Gaza, Arsal, Yemen...
But as you certainly noticed since you like to record my comments, I didnt.

Thumb EagleDawn 01 April 2015, 11:12

the iranian mouthpiece never answers a question and uses his canned ready made propaganda last resort training. Why are you so concerned with what is happening in Yemen? Is it because you are a shia follower of Khamanei or is it because it is in Lebanon's interests to do so and how?
and are you saying the KSA intervened in Yemen against yet another oppressed unarmed houthi uprising against a tyrant regime. LOL

The charters of the United Nations and Arab League prohibit the foreign intervention of one country in the affairs of the other, he remarked during Tuesday's weekly Change and Reform bloc meeting.

You are an ally of Syria and Iran and you admit that openly. Is Syria interfering in Lebanon's affairs when it sends Smaha with explosives to blow up the Batrak in Tripoli? Do you consider hezbollah intervention in Syria legal and not foreign and in accordance with the charter of the Arab league?

When your ally nassrallah attacks Bahraini leaders is that also not interfering in other countries affairs?! Even a traitor has conscience and remorse. You don't!

You are desperate because of the fact, that despite countless Saudi bombings, the Ansarallah manages to advance forward even still.

Despite Saudis superior firepower, the Ansarallah can't be broken. They will continue their struggle and even provide counter attacks as we've seen.

Now that is a notion of honor, unlike the corrupted Wahabis, that thought victory can be bought with dollars.

Finally, Aoun sees the light. Iran now must dismantle its Hezbollah operations in Lebanon, as that is "foreign intervention of one country into the affairs of the other"

Hezbollah should pull out of Syria, because that is "foreign intervention of one country into the affairs of the other".
