Speaker Nabih Berri praised on Wednesday the implementation of a security plan in Beirut and its southern suburbs of Dahiyeh.

He said: “We laud the plan and role of the security agencies in cracking down on terrorist cells.”

He made his remarks during his weekly meeting with lawmakers at his Ain el-Tineh residence.

Moreover, the speaker called for “fortifying Lebanon's internal scene” through dialogue in order to confront the impact of regional consequences.

On Tuesday, the army and Internal Security Forces took into force a security plan in Beirut and its southern suburbs to apprehend outlaws.

The plan will last several days as security forces strike with an iron fist to arrest offenders.

The army called on the citizens to comply with the measures “in order preserve their safety and ensure that their daily routines are not interrupted.”

It also urged them to report any suspicious activity or security incident they may encounter.

A number of suspects have since been detained.

FT, again, one sided coin, this is the other side if you please: Sayed Hassan, 33 years HA, Berri 39 years, Amal and the longest serving Speaker of parliament ever, even Vladimir Putin will die of envy. But it does strike an irony whereas Berri Ali Baba made reference to an iron fist policy. In his case, being such a blatant thief and chronic usurper of power, a man who dares not set foot in several parts of Africa, a blood diamonds dealer, a man no better than Liberia's Charles Tailor or or Sierra Leone's late Fode Sankoh. Tailor is in the Hague being tried for his crimes, yet a criminal like Berri still heads a country's parliament. Are we missing somethings?

@Peace, M8 are greedy and suspended in time, they still believe they have time on their side, when the very soil they're standing on is now flimsier than ever.
