Syrian Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Belonging to Armed Group

The Lebanese army arrested on Thursday a Syrian woman on suspicion of belonging to an armed group, reported the National News Agency.

An army intelligence patrol arrested Hind J. in the al-Rahmeh Syrian refugee encampment on the outskirts of Bebnine in the northern region of Akkar.

Investigations are underway with the suspect.

On Wednesday, the army arrested Mohammed Ahmed Kharma in the area of Bohsas in the northern city of Tripoli on charges of providing grenades to assailants to carry out attacks against troops.

It also seized eight grenades from his residence, as well as a quantity of ammunition and military gear.

In the eastern Masnaa region, the army arrested 17 Syrians as they attempted to illegally enter Lebanon.

They have since been referred to the concerned authorities for investigation.
