The Girls Football Academy (GFA) will be opening its doors in Lebanon as a first step for women players in the Middle East, in an attempt to promote the female athletes and improve their skills in Lebanon.

The Academy's owners, Nadia Assaf and Walid Arakji said that it is dedicated "exclusively to females who would like to play and learn how to play football at any age."

"There are four categories in GFA: under 9, 13, 17, and the senior team that will be participating in the Lebanese cup and league," Assaf said.

She added: "Each category will have a coach and an assistant coach. There will be a physiotherapist on standby at all times and each student will be medically insured in case of any accidents. "

Practices will be taking place at al-Ansar Field at the airport highway every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 5:30-7:30 pm as soon as the field's renovation is finished.

The teams will also be traveling abroad to Europe once a year to participate in outdoor tournaments.
