Prime Minister Tammam Salam hailed on Tuesday the efforts of the health and labor ministries for the launch of the unified medical prescription form, which he said would “ease the burden on citizens.”

During a ceremony held at the Grand Serail for the occasion, Salam said: “We hereby meet after the strenuous efforts of the health and labor ministries, the syndicates and the National Social Security Fund to reach a national achievement.”

“This achievement seeks to ease the burden on the citizen regarding the cost of the medication.”

He also stated that Lebanon “needs a similar unified prescription to solve its complicated political crisis. We must all cooperate to ensure Lebanon's continuity.”

The Parliament endorsed a draft-law in 2010 to monitor the selling of medication by pharmacists to patients to prove a legal consent between the doctor and his patient when an agreement is made to switch to generic drugs.

Solution to the political crisis: Choose a president from the Lebanese Expatriate communities. The Lebanese world wide are very accomplished people in all areas, medicine, law, politics, engineering, entertainment, all areas. Why do Lebanese succeed elsewhere, but Lebanon fails as a country? Because in Lebanon, the Lebanese pull each other down, but when the Lebanese go to other countries, they are allowed to grow to full potential.
So, instead of limiting the field to those Lebanese resident candidates, open it up to where the real talent lies -- among the expats. Lebanese citizens living abroad.
