Scores, Including Suspected Syrian Terrorists, Arrested

The Lebanese army said on Monday that it has arrested two Syrians on the main road of Labweh-Arsal in the eastern Bekaa Valley on suspicion of belonging to terrorist groups.

A communique issued by the military command identified the two suspects as Mohammed Mustafa al-Jaour and Khaled Mohammed al-Ghawi.

In the southern town of Alman, a military patrol arrested Palestinian Ayad Mohammed Salloum while Lebanese Ali Ghazi al-Assaad and Mohammed Ibrahim Fadel were apprehended in Beirut's Haret Hreik neighborhood for involvement in shootings and injuring citizens and a soldier.

In the area of Karm al-Saddeh in the northern district of Zgharta, a patrol detained Elie Hanna al-Khoury on charges of opening fire. It seized a gun and ammunition during the raid.

In the northern area of al-Ayrounieh, 14 Syrians were detained for entering the country illegally.

The detainees were handed over the appropriate authorities.
