Shooting has begun in Dubai on "Star Trek Beyond," the third film in the reboot of the science-fiction series.

Authorities in Dubai shut down busy Sheikh Zayed Road from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday for the shoot. A helicopter filmed along the road, lined with tall buildings and the Dubai Metro.

Actors involved in "Star Trek Beyond," directed by Justin Lin, arrived in Dubai several days ago. The film is set for release in July.

Dubai's Burj Khalifa skyscraper played a starring role in 2011's "Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol." J.J. Abrams, who helmed the last two "Star Trek" films, shot parts of the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" in Abu Dhabi. The city was also a location for the most recent "Fast & Furious" movie installment.

The admin should realize that Leonard Nimoy, the guy in the picture, having lived long and prospered died last February and will not be one of the actors going to Dubai.
