Report: Cabinet to Convene Friday to Adopt Shehayyeb's Trash Plan amid FPM Boycott
Cabinet is expected to convene on Friday to adopt Agriculture Minister Akram Shehayyeb's waste disposal plan, reported the daily al-Mustaqbal on Wednesday.
Ministerial sources said: “The session will be its last due to the obstruction of the Free Patriotic Movement.”
FPM chief MP Michel Aoun stated on Tuesday that his ministers will not attend a cabinet meeting aimed at addressing the waste crisis due to his objection to the failure to tackle the contentious issue of security promotions and appointments.
Other sources meanwhile told al-Mustaqbal that Hizbullah Ministers Mohammed Fneish and Hussein al-Hajj Hassan are expected to attend Friday's session.
The party had informed concerned officials that FPM Ministers Jebran Bassil and Elias Bou Saab will be boycotting the meeting.
Shehayyeb had held talks on Tuesday with Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq on the trash crisis.
Aoun's insistence to have his son-in-law, Commando Regiment chief Brig. Gen. Chamel Roukoz, appointed as army commander has stalled the government and left it paralyzed as his ministers have boycotted the cabinet sessions.

Meh I remember when I was in Lebanon and it was Ramadan I was in place in dahieh, at a famous fast food place, I believe it was called abu ali falafel, but not sure, anyways. I am sure it was in dahieh because there were so many shia mosques. I was eating that tutifruity and falafel sandwich and the shias were looking at me with anger, until one guy came, told me something in Farsi Arabic "Allah Akbar, Labayka Ya Nassrallah or something Labayka Ya Hussein", and tried to take away my cup of fruits and the falafel sandwich. Until a police or army some security guy, told the fanatic to back off.

If it was Aoun only it would be easy to have a solution be it voting or political pressure from the christian parties etc., but it is Hizbola and it's agendas. Aoun is giving the cover cowardly and that is shameful.

It is obvious the word " constructive meeting" does not exist in the vocabulary of the political leaders, any suggestion,idea or plan from one party is automatically rejected (vice versa) by the other party before even listening to it.

Little by little, the FPM is falling down. let it obstruct, what else can it do? Roukoz is grilled and out all because of greed from his old FIL and also from his own greed. Insider sources a few weeks ago when the FPM leadership's transition meeting was on, several dissenting voices were heard, till old man Aoun barged in saying in his dirty language as usual, "leykou ya ......., I am the one who made you, so it is me who'll decide who'll replace me and my replacement is Gebran Bassil, whether you like or not, this is final". Good luck FPM, Gebran is you final nailing over your coffin, just waiting for the old man to finally kick the bucket for the FPM to go into disarray.
