Report: Aoun Refuses Franjieh as President, Informs Hizbullah

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun has informed his ally Hizbullah of his rejection to nominate Marada leader MP Suleiman Franjieh for the post of presidency, An Nahar daily said on Tuesday.

Aoun, himself a candidate of March 8 alliance, has also informed Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geaega of the stance, added the daily.

The MP announced on Monday that it is up to the March 8 coalition to decide whether or not to nominate Franjieh for the presidency.

His stances come amid a flurry of political talks in the country that followed a Paris meeting between Franjieh and al-Mustaqbal movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri. The meeting sparked intense speculation that the two leaders agreed to the nomination of the Marada chief for the presidency.

However, Aoun said Monday that he has not been officially informed until the moment of any “agreement” between Hariri and Franjieh.

He added: “Why should Suleiman Franjieh's nomination come from Saad Hariri?”

Asked about the feasibility of a settlement involving a March 8 president and a March 14 premier, Aoun described such a scenario as a “fair solution” while stressing that “each camp must choose its own candidate.”

"Aoun, himself a candidate of March 8 alliance, has also informed Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geaega of the stance, added the daily."

-- Lol is that supposed to mean something?

So Aoun said March 8 needs to discuss Franjieh's nomination, then Aoun comes out and rejects Franjieh. Lol and isn't Franjieh in Aoun's bloc?

Since Aoun "informed" the Shia he rejects Franjieh, Aoun basically decided on behalf of the entire M8 coalition lol

By having this kind of leaders one should conclude that the population of this country is cursed .

Aoun the loser refuses ? Therefore, Franjieh will be president unfortunately. Listen very carefully to what Aoun says and you know exactly that the opposite will happen. So typical.

I told you....the madman....

Missing humble 01 December 2015, 10:22

This is what I wrote yesterday:

He is still in the "Nobody but me" ....whether it is Frangieh, the Batrak or Mar Maroun himself...

The man is mad and everyone can observe the degree of his psychotic illness.

Poor is the country where there is only one follower to this mareedman.

Let it be remembered that the stance of the Caporal serves the interests of Ebola in their objective of destroying the institutions, the constitution, the National Pact and creating a complete void and chaos to take over the whole country.

Do you now see why all Ebola followers support the Caporal ?
Do you now see why the Caporal is a traitor?

Caporal has nominated himself : by what right? This is an ELECTION not a NOMINATION.
Each party leader has the right to choose a preferred candidate and give him his voices in a democratic election.
You, Caporal, I accuse you of falsication and lies conducting the whole country to the abyss.

Aoun and his crew proved to be as corrupt as all the other sectarian leaders. However, Aoun goes a step further: he is a dangerous demagogue that is ready to burn our country to get his way.
Frangieh has always been truthful. He is an open book and is no demagogue. This is why other parties in Lebanon, the region and the world rather work with him. Basically he is not a total nutter and does not have a bloody .

Missing cedars 01 December 2015, 13:45

No one gets it yet.. It either Aoun or nothing. We will have to wait to either he dies or jumps in nahr Beirut. If you ask Aoun to nominate another candidate he will not answer it because he wants none but himself. A country running under one man show is embarrassing. Aoun thinks harriri payed the divide and conquer game but again ask Aoun and march 8 to name a candidate they will come back with Aoun and only Aoun.

Thumb nickjames 01 December 2015, 22:36

Lol quorum will not be met. First of all, it wasn't Hezbollah who nominated Franjieh, which means Hezbollah still wants no president. So they're gonna keep boycotting regardless (along with Aoun and Amal of course). Second, Franjieh is part of Aoun's bloc. He would have to split from Aoun, but Franjieh only has three seats, and it's highly unlikely the rest of the parties in Aoun's bloc -- like the Armenians and others -- would abandon Aoun and join Franjieh.

And you're forgetting about M14 lol. The LF is not going to vote for Franjieh. I doubt Kataeb would either. So they would boycott, and now there would be more parties boycotting than there have been the last two years...

Dear General, the train has come and gone a long time ago and you are still waiting to jump onboard...the train has left you out cold and no one really is listening any longer. Better pack your bags and accept reality in order to save whatever dignity you have left. Good news is your arch rival and recently turned pal, the hakim has also missed the train...so maybe you can comfort one another this time and look back on what could have been only IF you two had joined together in a powerful political front as you are trying to do now as of late, and did not fight each other so bitterly for so long! as it turns out somebody outwitted both of you as you were busy bickering and pointing fingers which turned out to be at your own expense in the end.
