Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said Wednesday that Premier Najib Miqati will not resign, stressing that the fall of the Syrian regime will solve some of the problems in Lebanon.

Hariri said on Twitter fielding questions from his supporters that he never wanted to go into politics, “but in a split second in 2005 everything changed.”

When asked about the Shiites in Lebanon, he stated: “We care about all Lebanese, especially the Shiites and we don't make differences believe me. We are Lebanese all of us.”

On allegations that Hizbullah is deploying militarily in the northern city of Tripoli, the former PM replied: "Hizbullah has no job in Tripoli.”

He reiterated that Lebanon will be “in a much better place after 2013 and even before," adding: "People don't vote for money, you can't buy people, and it’s unfair to say that.”

When asked about alleged “threats” he received from former commander of the presidential guard brigade Mustapha Hamdan, the former PM said that “these threats are always there and they will soon pay a price by the law.”

Addressing local developments, he said that Miqati will not resign and he should fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

On the developments in Syria, Hariri predicted that the fall of the Syrian regime “will solve some of the problems in Lebanon,” but pointed out that “rebuilding Lebanon is a Lebanese job.

He hoped that the Syrians will receive all the help they need from the “Arab League and the international community since these massacres are unacceptable anymore.”

When asked if he will visit Syria at the request of friendly countries if he becomes premier again, he replied: “You don't know Saad.”
