Kuwait, Qatar Latest Gulf State to Urge Citizens to Leave Lebanon

Kuwait called on its citizens in Lebanon on Wednesday to leave the country, making it the latest Gulf country to issue a travel warning.

Unless they have pressing issues to stay in the country, citizens are advised to leave Lebanon, said a statement from Kuwaiti embassy in Beirut

These citizens were urged “exercise caution” in the country, reported Kuwait News Agency.

They should avoid “unsafe areas and contact the embassy and coordinate with it at times of need.”

Qatar later issued a similar warning.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain had issued travel warnings to their citizens on Tuesday, citing “safety” concerns.

Saudi Arabia decided last week to halt a $4 billion grant to the Lebanese army and security forces and to review its diplomatic relations with Lebanon. The stance came after Lebanon's foreign ministry declined to vote in favor of Saudi-backed resolutions against Iran during two meetings of Arab and Muslim foreign ministers.

It also followed fierce anti-Saudi statements by Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Announcing its decision on Friday, the kingdom deplored "political and media campaigns inspired by Hizbullah against Saudi Arabia," as well as what it called the group's "terrorist acts against Arab and Muslim nations."

In a statement, Hizbullah said Saudi Arabia stopped the military aid because of economic pressures from the war in Yemen, where it leads an Arab military coalition fighting Iran-backed rebels, and lower oil revenues.

The $3 billion deal funded military equipment provided by France and was to ship vehicles, helicopters, drones, artillery and other equipment to Lebanon.

First the Gulf cut all ties with Iran, now they cut all ties with Lebanon the land of Resistance.

This is a good sign, which means the Saudi grip on Lebanon will be cut off, and Lebanon can seek new alliances, out of any corrupted Arab League.

What downfalls are those texas?
Ending the Israeli occupation of Lebanon?
Or holding back the ISIS and Nusra/Qaeda salafis that you support and cheer?

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 17:19

Even your Wahabi allies in Al Arabiya media, are now saying that Hezbollah "uses" the Lebanese Army to fight against ISIS in Arsal outskirts.
Why do you accuse the Lebanese army?

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 17:29

Saudi texas, you always claim to support the Lebanese army.
What do you call this?

https://english.alarabiya.net/en/views/news/middle-east/2016/02/22/When-Lebanon-becomes-an-Iranian-colony.html

Al Arabiya: The last two consecutive governments and the former president have failed to curb Hezbollah. What’s more dangerous is that the army itself failed to dissociate its forces and it became exploited by Hezbollah to employ it in the Iranian war in Syria. Hezbollah dragged the army to have it deploy its forces in areas like Aarsal, and then it used these forces to pursue whom it described as terrorists from among the Syrian opposition.

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 17:29

That means, that Saudi Arabia and their supporters considers the Lebanese Army a Hezbollah pawn, just because they are fighting ISIS and Al Nusra?

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 19:39

Yes bani7arouf, I'm using your own media against you.
Using their own words, and they believe the Lebanese Army is a pawn of Hezbollah, that is the reason Saudi Arabia cut all aid aswell as the financial bid, because they do not wish anything to happen to your salafis in Arsal.

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 20:27

Here we go texas, you always claim the rest of us takes Iranian interests before the Lebanese.

Now how about you taking the Saudi Interests before the Lebanese Army and people hypocrit?

Thumb Mystic 24 February 2016, 21:45

Only the President of Lebanon can make such demands texas.

Not Salam.

I do not understand Saudi's stance at all...it is regrettable that they withhold much needed weapons and ammunition from the LAF who is in a deadly fight with IS and Nusra...if anything they should contribute more because they are a line of defense against these thugs and help keep them at bay which eventually helps protect the kingdom as well. If they want to punish the government then that's one thing but the LAF, the inly institution left standing to protect the nation? I have to wonder about their real motive here.

They chastised the Christian opposition for not being Arab enough when in reality all they were doing was they were abusing the Palestinian and Arab cause to further their own dark agendas. The opposition resisted their tyranny and their outdated brand of archaic Arabism and was later joined by the Sunnis. Now they are the ones who are running away from Arabism and trying to flip the tables. Sorry, but you dont get to do that. You were never Arab, you were Persian all along. We were always Lebanese first above all else, and Arab second. When the Sunnis chanted 'Lubnan Awalan', most Shias chanted 'Bil Rou7 Bil Dam Nafdeeki Ya Iran'. You can't cheat history.

How about we stop sending teffe7 to Gulf states? That will teach them!

This is from the link Mystic posted above:
Hezbollah prohibited the army from entering Beirut’s southern suburb which it considers outside the authority of the Lebanese state. It has also been said that Hezbollah is building a military airfield in the Beqaa town of Iaat to carry out more of its suspicious activities.
Hezbollah also controls the security at Beirut airport and kidnaps and searches whoever it wants. Its militias have kidnapped peaceful Iranian opposition figures and threatened some media outlets for criticizing the supreme guide in Tehran and its proxy in Beirut’s southern suburb.

All of the above abuses committed by HA makes Mystic so happy and proud.....go figure, 100% iRanian in mind and soul

Send Qawmeyye to Syria, this is what they love. Let Lebanon be Lebanon.
Send HA to IRan, this is what they love. Let Lebanon be Lebanon
Send Salafis to KSA, this is what they like, Let Lebanon be Lebanon.
Send the PFLP to hell, they are quests who turned into occupiers, Let Lebanon be Lebanon

bigjohn, We can not stop individual volunteers who want to be Jihadists (neither could France or any European country). But we are talking about an entity like HA sending 10,000 men with heavy weapons to fight without the ability of the State to do anything about it. There lies the difference.

That is nonsense. Saudi Arabia and Russia have reached a deal on Syria. And Turkey has ruled out any military intervention in Syria.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates by leaving Lebanon have resolved the 3/4 of our "rubbish" problem in Lebanon.
The last 1/4 of our "rubbish" problem can be resolved when we dump our "rubbish" in those 3 countries.
