Israel Accuses Lebanon of Making more than 2,000 Violations of Resolution 1701 in 2015

Israel’s mission to the United Nations has claimed that Lebanon violated Security Council Resolution 1701 around 2,374 times last year, the Jerusalem Post reported on Monday.

The mission also said in a report it issued on Sunday that there were 589 violations involving the U.N.-drawn Blue Line border between Israel and Lebanon, and 653 Hizbullah patrols along the border fence.

“Two incidents in which Israel was attacked, including two rockets fired at Nahariya, were also recorded, as well as 51 violent demonstrations against” the Israeli army, it said.

“Hizbullah has free reign in south Lebanon and instead of reacting forcefully to their violations, the U.N. is ignoring the problem,” the newspaper quoted Israel’s Ambassador to New York Danny Danon as saying.

“Israel will continue to show zero tolerance regarding anyone who attacks us,” he told U.N. Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon. “The government of Lebanon is not acting and armed Hizbullah operatives are roaming freely throughout the south Lebanon in violation of the U.N.”

The claims come as Israel’s fighter jets violate Lebanon’s airspace on an almost daily basis. The Lebanese government says the flights are in clear violation of Resolution 1701 and the Lebanese sovereignty.

Several Israeli spy rings and tapping devices have also been found in the South and other areas of Lebanon.

The Israeli army also on several occasions has entered contested territories and has refused to withdraw from the northern part of Ghajar village.

Resolution 1701, which brokered a ceasefire in the war that Israel launched on Lebanon in 2006, calls on Tel Aviv to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and for no armed presence south of the Litani river except for the Lebanese army and U.N. peacekeepers.

Very true and something must be done regarding this terrorist iranian organization.

Israel and Ebola are occupiers with similar threatening attitudes and expansionist objectives.

But, the Syrian refugees say the opposite and have created a website to thank Israel:

Maybe we should just make peace with our neighbors and stop these childish games.

If no one wants more wars, we should accept the consequence of that and have the balls to make peace so as to use our energy and money to solve real problems in Lebanon: good education, housing and employement for all, healthcare for all like in any sane and humane country.

Hpw many times over the last few months have the Palestinian President Abbas and members of his cabiney turned round and stated categotrically that they refuse to sit face to face with Israel to bring about peace. Do who exactly is Israel going to make peace with amongst the Palestinians?
Lebanon could/would do much better if it took the initiative.
