Beleaguered German auto giant Volkswagen Friday announced new dates for its 2015 annual results and shareholder meeting after postponing them over the a massive probe into its global emissions-cheating scandal.

The earnings news conference, which had been scheduled for March 10, will now be held on April 28 at its headquarters in the northern town of Wolfsburg, the carmaker said in a statement.

Its annual shareholder meeting is to be held on June 22 in the northern city of Hanover.

VW is currently engulfed in the deepest crisis in its history after it was forced to admit in September last year that it had installed so-called "defeat device" software into 11 million diesel engine vehicles worldwide.

It unveiled some details of its investigation into the scandal this week, admitting that its former chief executive had been warned about possible anomalies dogging its diesel engines as early as May 2014 -- more than a year before the scandal broke.

However, it said that none of its top bosses could have known of the full extent of the problem until it was thrown into the open last autumn by U.S. authorities.
