Man Critically Hurt as Two Families Clash near Beirut Sports City

A dispute between vegetable sellers descended into violence on Wednesday evening in an area on Beirut's southern peripheries, state-run National News Agency reported.
“Sharp objects were used in the fistfight that erupted in the Abou Sahl area near Beirut's Sports City,” NNA said.
“Three volleys of machinegun fire were heard coming from the edge of the Sabra (Palestinian refugee) camp in the wake of the incident,” the agency added.
But the clash renewed despite the intervention of security forces.
"A man from the Solaq family was critically wounded after the clash that erupted between the Hableh and Bou Sahel families renewed and escalated into heavy gunfire," NNA said.
Security forces were pursuing the shooters and trying to contain the situation, the agency added.
