State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr charged on Wednesday 11 people with belonging to the Islamic State group, reported the National News Agency.

It said that seven of the suspects are currently in custody.

The Lebanese, Palestinian, and Syrian suspects are charged with carrying out terrorist activity, planning bombings in Beirut’s southern suburbs of Dahieh, and other areas where foreigners are located.

In November, the IS claimed responsibility for twin bombings in Beirut’s suburb of Bourj al-Barajneh that left at least 40 people dead.

The army and security forces have in recent months arrested numerous terror suspects linked to the groups fighting in the Syrian conflict.
