Army: Siddiqin Blast Caused by Mine or Cluster Bomb

The army command announced on Wednesday that the Siddiqin explosion that took place overnight may have been caused by a mine or cluster bomb left over from Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

It said in a statement that army units headed to the scene of the blast and conducted a wide search throughout the night and during the day on Wednesday without finding anything.

“Given these findings, the explosion was most likely caused by a mine or a cluster bomb,” it concluded.

Hizbullah meanwhile issued a statement condemning media reports that claimed that the blast took place at a party headquarter or arms depot, deeming them as “completely baseless.”

A huge explosion went off in the Hizbullah stronghold of Siddiqin in the South overnight and party members prevented the security forces from reaching the area, media reports said Wednesday.

The reports said the cause of the blast could not be determined after Hizbullah drew a tight security dragnet around the scene of the explosion.

What a disappointment to Gabby, peace, thepatriot and the other daydreamers.

They said it was a huge explosion. A small clster bomb is not huge. This was Hezz weapons again. That is why they sealed off the area. The Gov't sould have been the only one there, not the Hezz.

Why not the old story of a gas canister or a dispute between to car dealers?

Why did Hezbollah surround the area and prevent the lebanese authorities from entering it?

if it really was what they claim they would have left the tv channels film it !
the fact that they prevent anyone to do so proves that hezb is lying as usual...

Reading statements like these give me a headache! 1- we're not retarded to believe crap like this and 2- eh, it was only mine or cluster bomb... nothing worth looking into it... WTF??????

It was initially reported the the Leb. Army was not allowed to inspect the scene after the explosion, and now they put this statement. Hope our army (one day??) will take matters into its own hands, and only then will become more credible.
Our national army must be our pride, but alas, they won't let it play its most basic role. What a shame!

How many will buy this version being sold by the army? How many bought the previous stories about exploding gas canisters and the like? If there is nothing to hide, why hide things? The Lebanese have a propensity for conspiracy theories, why feed it by denying free access to the media? How can an organization that does not trust anyone expect people to trust it blindly when it spends its time hiding things from them?

So Gabby is stuck to the word: huge. Talking about huge, how about the huge claims by the same genius that ASSad WILL fall one and a half months ago as predicted by the genius four and a half months ago? Not to mention that three weeks ago, the same genius told us that the following week's Saturday was coming. Did it come of Saturdays come once every two months in the genius's calendar? Enlighten us, genius, or peace for that matter, or even thepatriot. Best regards, my friends. Oh how jealous I am of you and your intelligence. Wow, man.

Only Hizbollah's top officialdom and some debonnaire army officers do not know what everybody else already does.
Hizbo cannot even afford to remember that it had any arms cache is (was) in that area.Nor can it acknowledge the hit.
For Siddiqin is situated SOUTH of the Litani.
He has even more reasons this time to keep away all "foreign" eyes, including the lebanese army's.
Lets wait and watch the next episode of a covert yet crual and dirty an unholy war between Ashrafalnass and the Chosen people.
